Title: Rico1
Post by: bigearv14 on March 21, 2006, 11:44:43 PM
I know what this pattern should do, but I'd rather ask someone who has thrown it before. I was thinking of putting it on my Punisher and was wondering what kind of reaction I would get out of it.

I still get a strong reaction in the back with my Punisher, lots of backend.

The Rico1 really does amplify the ball's natural look.

Sorry, but one more question. I am stuck between drilling the ball Rico, Pin under ring, or pin over ring. I want this thing to go very long and snap...HARD!!! Which pattern would be the best for a sharp breakpoint?

I'm thinking pin over ring or bridge, but have never thrown Rico.

Also, specs are 2" pin and TW is 3.0.

Thanks

2' pin not going to be very long and hard see if u can get 4 -5 pin and 3.5 top better for long and hard

OK guys...I'm pretty up on ball dynamics but, at the risk of sounding like an idiot...can someone explain what they mean by a "rico" drilling?

Rico1 = pin in center of grip and cg at 45degrees with wt hole 6 3/4" from pin through cg (for symmetric core balls)

If you are looking for length, then you need the pin above the fingers.  Rico1 is an early rolling layout due to the pin being located on the midline.
