Scorchin X-blem $49 @ Bowling Ball. Com
« on: November 16, 2006, 04:42:55 AM »
I just received an e-mail for some specials @ Bowling Ball. Com. They have 15 pound x-out Scorchins for $69 minus $10 newsletter discount plus $10 Google checkout discount. Final price = $49.99 shipped.

I figured at this price it was worth taking a chance.

I have used a coupon code with google and its worked just fine.. Maybe some of the codes won't work, but the one I used worked fine..

You are also correct, you could use the google checkout 2 seperate times and get the same deal..

You can't combine coupon codes with newsletter offers by the way. Although if he ordered separately it should have been 89.98 anyway. The google $10 should have been taken advantage of twice.

yeah I didn't use the google checkout twice.  I'm ordering one for a friend so to go thru all that again just to save $5 wasn't worth it.  I'll pay $50 for a scorchin every day of the week!

I just ordered one for my buddy last night around 11 pm. Just got the email that "My order has been shipped" 10 minutes ago (9:45am). It was even $5 cheaper than mine at $44.99. I'm thinking about ordering one more for myself to put in the closet.

I ordered one this am (also for 44.99) and shows ready to be shipped today as well. Will report back when received to let everyone know how the ball is spec wise when I get it.

Did anyone choose to drill their scorchin pin axis?

I don't have a lot of axis rotation.  So the ball justs revs quickly and goes end over end.  (pin 1 inch from axis.)

Received my two scorchins yesterday.  Both have 2-3 inch pins.  One has 2.7 oz top weight and the other has 3.1 oz.

Got my two yesterday, they look great. Little bit of white haze, 2.5" and 3" pin, 2.7 and 2.8 oz top weight. Can't wait to drill em up.

Quick Q-anyone leave it dull? just curious what that haze does when it gets a little oil in it? I'm sure i'll end up polishing it anyway, as i do with almost everything, lmk.

Mine also has that 'haze' on it and I was curious if anyone left it like that or had it polished.  I know someone said before the best way to remove the 'haze' but I don't remember what that was.  Can anyone refresh us on the best way to do that?

Thanks,

Mike

No one knows how to do this?  To get rid of the haze on the ball?  Just polish it?

Thanks for the info.  I can't wait to pick mine up from the pro shop this coming week.  I have Clean N Dull so I'll give that a try.

Thanks,

Mike

Looks like the price is now up to $69 from $54. Darn! I should have done this sooner.
