Title: Since Brunswicks Move to mexico?
Post by: Billy Ray on January 05, 2006, 09:13:16 AM
This may be a question more for pro shop guys. Have you found it hard to get some Brunswick balls lately? Rampages, Vapor Zones Etc? Seems more and more distributors are being out of stock of Brunswick balls more than I remember before?

What has been your experience?

They haven't moved yet...Back when the move was first announced, they said it would be 1-2 years before the new plant opens...

The reason you are having problems with proshops keeping them in stock is because everyone is buying them so fast that they can't keep them on the shelf.

I've been having problems getting 15# Strike Zones, Vapors, and Rampages lately.

The plant will be shutting down soon, so I'm guessing that some of the workers aren't exactly giving 100% to resolve the backorders.

Hey Ric,

will there be a distinguishing trait on the balls or box to show it was made in Reynoso?

Just a guess, but probably they'll say "Made in Mexico".

You mean something besides the engraving on the ball that says "Made in Mexico"?

If it's a particle ball, being multi-colored is probably a sure sign.

I wasnt looking to start a Brunswick bashing thread here, was just asking if it was affecting other pro shops negatively. Unfortunately for Brunswick the fact that they are working 'round the clock and cannot meet demand means my customers are looking elsewhere ot other companies for equipment, and if they love the new ball when they go away from brunswick they may not return. ITs all about branding your customer and if they cant meet demand the customer may look elsewhere. If it was a plain fact that only my shop couldnt get them I would have issues with the same problem of possibly losing a customer to another shop. I dont want that to happen just as much as Brunswick doesnt want it to happen either.

I remember years ago when Columbia came out with the Ti Messenger they was a huge back log there and did not really hear much about it. Now that Brunswick is behind and with the move coming up it is such a bad thing. I think it is time for some so called adults start acting like it. It is a move to better the equipment I for one can't wait to see what the new stuff will be like once the move takes place.
