Slingshot-Any actual pics or vids?

I know they haven't been out long, and usually entry level stuff gets ignored, just wanted to see if anybody had anything.

Going to be getting a lime/lavender soon and wanted a peek at performance, if possible.

what made you pick a slingshot over a rattler or an avalanche?

The rattler is more ball than I'm looking for. I have PLENTY of stuff to cover that condition/shot with.

The Avalanches. Well, I had the blue/silver one, and it was stronger than advertised, and I just don't like the look of the slide, so I went with the lower diff and mild cover on the slingshot.

Now, if they DO come out with a pearl urethane Avalanche ( I heard a rumor), I may check into that one as well.

IMHO... Not at all comparable to the Freeze. Much smoother due to the lower differential and weaker coverstock.

My Freeze -

Touch less than my MOjave as well - http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x16/madcelt2000/IMG_0673.jpg

I think this is different than the Freeze, which is a bit stronger from what I've seen, but this one is unique.

I've used it twice at different houses now, and both times I was able to stay in the area that everyone else has vacated. Most "dry lane balls" get easy length and either keep skating or snap unpredictably late.

I keep waiting for it to go through the nose, but it holds the line and keeps the pins low. So far carry has been very good.

I would recommend strong layouts (and pin down) for most bowlers. The black/silver and red/silver are real eye catchers so far.

I drilled my red/silver Slingshot today. I put 20 games on it on a two day old house shot left over from league AND open play. It was GREAT! I can vouch that it is nowhere near as strong as a Freeze,as I''ve owned one of those for several months. The Freeze is a great ball, but not really for the kind of dry I encounter. The Slingshot got good length and saved energy for the back. I actually like it better than the two Avalanches I''ve owned(blue Pearl and Green/Black) because it does what I had hoped the Avalanches would do but didn''t = get down the lane! I am extremely rev dominant due to Parkinson''s Disease and very low ball speed. I have been stuck using almost exclusively urethane and a Chainsaw and a Starburst XXXL. This is even better than the Chainsaw, and that is a great dry lane piece! I was able to play 30 to 10 at the breakpoint with 90* axis rotation, or play straight up 17 with maybe 25-35*. I did scuff the surface mildly with a gray Scotchbrite. The ball hits great!

These are all the things I was hoping to hear. I was hoping for a mild, rolly type ball that will let me play further towards the burn as the night goes on.

Been using an AMF Orbit Extreme pearl (http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll5/juggernaut_too/Bowling%20balls/OrbitExtreme.jpg) to do this, but its got a lot of games on it, so I'm going to try to replace it with this one.

And that's what we want it for. It wasn't intended to be on the same performance level as a Freeze, but rather to be a good looking, value priced, entry level ball that can also fit into the arsenal of any bowler looking to complete their line up.

Exactly what I'm doing. I've been using only one companies stuff for a while now, but starting to get curious about what else might be out there. Needing a replacement for the O.E., I decided to go for one of these. I always liked the look pk17 gave me when I was throwing mostly B stuff, so this was the perfect opportunity to try one again.

I've got the gold/merlot one and it's one sexy beast!!

I'm going to go with a pin down 4x4 layout.

I've the avalanche series and hoping the pk17 cover is going to be as hard off the dry as they are..
