Whats Next?
« on: August 30, 2005, 01:27:47 PM »
I know the Rampage and the Smokin have not been out for that long, but alas I have a short attention span and crave another release.  I would assume an asym would be next considering the strike has been out longer than the SI or Rampage.  I would also imagine, although it is merely speculation, that it will have the activator+ considering the infernos have stepped into the next generation with the activator advance.  So tell me does anyone know whats next?

I'm pretty sure someone with Brunswick knows...but I'm also pretty sure they're not telling.

If past history is any guide, there will be another Zone and another BVP released later in the Fall.  However, past performance is not necessarily an indication of future results...

The raging is a pearl particle.

I could have sworn that another Brunswick staffer told me that they've yet to make a particle pearl ball....so I don't think the Raging is a particle pearl.

The RI is a pearl ball - it has very fine swirls which make it look like a solid.

For new balls, I'd also expect a new particle ball in the Inferno line, being it a pearl or a solid. Additionally, I'd expect a successor for the UI with a more modern Activator coverstock generation (Activator Advance solid in 800 grit) to replace the UI, because the SZ has taken its place.

Furthermore, there are 2 gaps in the line-up: without the Slay/R, there is still some space for a performance ball for dry conditions. The Punisher can be too itchy on such turf, and the Power Grooves are not to everybody's taste.

A bigger opportunity is even between the Punisher and the SI: something for medium conditions with more length and snap than the Rampage, maybe with a symmetric core. Performance like the Command Zone ARC or the Fuze Igniter would be nice to see, maybe with a harder version of Acitivator (but not the stuff on the ZC Red Pin) or some PK18 light load particle pearl in a high gloss finish?
