Need Ball Suggestion For Friend
« on: January 08, 2006, 10:57:16 PM »
While I am not usually at a loss to pick the right ball for people in the shop I work in, such does happen once in a while.  A good friend of mine is in need of something new.  He currently has a Rampage(drilled 4 x 4), a Smokin Inferno(drilled 6 x 4, my old experiment drilling ball ), and a Zone Classic(drilled 5 1/2 with the MB in the thumb, also an old ball of mine ).

He would like to stay with Brunswick if possible, but that doesn't have to the case.  We are looking to get him something that will allow him to turn the corner harder since when he moves deeper, being somewhat a spinner, he has issues kicking out the ten.

I have a couple of ideas, but wanted to see what some thought here first.  If you would also like to give a layout suggestion, that would be fine.  I wish I could give you some other specifics about his numbers, but I don't have them in front of me.

Thanks in advance.

Hmmm, would depend on the oil condition and his style?

For the case of some early movement in oil for a spinner/low track style, I have heard that Brunswick's particle equipment works this kind of bowler, because it uses carbide particles which create early friction.
The Warp Zone, with a medium RG core and a PK18 base with a medium load, must have been a good option for spinners looking for some movement in oil. I suppose that the Raging Inferno would also be a good option, but it is gone, too. Unfortunately, there are only low and extreme load particles in Brunswick's assortment.

Just a guess, but maybe take a look at MoRich and their particle stuff?

dizzy,

To answer your questions about conditions.  Each and every set of conditions this problem of turning the corner occurs.  He just gets to the point that he can go left more, but then can't get the ball to flip up.  If he gets in the dry again, obvious it over-reacts.  Most of the shots we bowl on are medium to drier conditions.  I mentioned the particle issue to him as well, but he has had a couple of bad experiences with particle.  Such is life.  I will hope for some extra suggestions.  Thanks much.  I appreciate it.

Think maybe taking another Zone Classic with a more aggressive MB location would give enough difference to turn the corner???

maybe a lesson is in order.
learning different release points is a very powerful tool.
changing his axis rotation will solve the problem.
