Power Groove reactive/proactive?

After bowling in a tournament this past weekend and always struggling in this one house I happened to pull out an old blue hot flame with a 1" pin drilled under the ring finger cg 1/4" of midline.  This ball gave me the best look I have ever had in this house which began to bring my confidence back up.

I was considering looking at the Power Groove reactive or the proactive.

Looking to drill it up 3E for the wet/dry  For those that don't want to look that up it's a pin to PAP of 2" and CG just off the grip.  Almost a 2 X 4 drill with the pin about 1 1/2 above midline.

What do you think about this ball used for light wet dries?

Power Groove pearl is 1 - 2 notches stronger in hook and in oil handling ability than the Blue Hot. If you wanted something similar to the Blue Hot, the PG is not it.

Look at the Barrage (Best bet) or possibly the AMF Scamp.

I only sold my Blue Hot, when I got a Barrage. I used to love the Blue Hot for anything short of a condition on which I had to use a Blue Dot as a strike ball.

charlest - How much stronger is the PGR in comparison to the Blue Hot?  And where do you see the difference?  In the midlane or the backend.

I would have to say that the power groove is without doubt the biggest skid snap ball I have ever thrown bar none! Just my opinion but I have mega revs and a lot of axis tilt.

Axis tilt, or rotation?  Tilt would mean you're a spinner, rotation means the ball is spinning 90 degrees to the direction it's traveling...

I don't have either, but I imagine the PG has a much stronger backend, but I'm not sure about length.

try to get your hands on a discontinued particle pearl plum power groove. probobly one of the most underrated balls.  Smooths out the wet/dry very well and hits a ton.

I purchased the new solid (charcoal sand edition) power groove and I am quite impressed.  I added a coat of light polish and it is very clean through the fronts and not as flippy as the pearl version.  It reacts pretty well on my 38 feet sport pattern.

You can't beat it for the price.

Like I said, 1 - 2 notches/degrees/levels, depending on your style.
The Blue Hot was made for dry to light oil. Power Groove (pearl reactive) is made for light (high speed or low revs) to medium-light (average speed and/or revs) to medium condiiton (hogh revs, low speed). Haven't seen the Plum pearl proactive although I have been tempted at times to buy one: BTM said it was the pearl particle closest to skid/flip. It is a stronger ball than the resin pearl, obviously.

Normally a Blue Hot and a Power Groove would not be considered usable on the same lane condiiton, unless it were a house shot/wall.

FYI my driller once again told me he had the hardest time selling Power Grooves to men because of the colors (Actually, he said that men thought the colors were too "gay"). Seems like they were originally marketed towards female tastes but everyone, including he, says they are dynamite balls. As a man, the only color I have a hard time with is pink; even then, I had owned a Lane#1 Buzzsaw/C2 Raspberry, which was PINK.

my driller says the only reason he doesn't sell a ton of Sonic X's in his shop is because he sells the pants off of PGs!!
