Sponsor Brunswick Staffer Missy Bellinder

If you haven't heard, Missy became only the 3rd woman ever to win a PBA Regional. Now she's starring in her own video, one in which she is made over into a striking starlet. Check out the opportunity to sponsor the video shoot.

from Fluff E Bunnie -- "...On a side note, who are all these strippers who are hanging out with her on the eBay pictures? Is this like Extreme Porn Makeover? If so I guess it would be interesting. I am not sure what it has to do with bowling though..."

Again, the ladies in the pix with Missy -- most of them -- are the Playboy Girls of Golf (http://www.playboygolf.com).  The one with the mic is Lia Montelongo (http://www.ameliamontelongo.com, who is the spokesperson/spokesmodel for YouBowl and not affiliated with Playboy.  All of the ladies are professionals in their own right -- and one actually is in law school --

A lot of strippers strip to put themselves through school.  I have no problem with that and I fully support the stripping industry.

quote:
and to suggest them to be strippers and porn-affiliated ironically mirrors the image issue that bowling experiences in the broader public consciousness.

Hey, there is enough irony in this whole promotion without pointing out my ironic humor!  I was obviously being sarcastic about actually calling them strippers, but I didn't have my sarcasm tags on.  Sorry...  The politically correct thing to say would have been:  [sarcasm]Who are all of these girls who LOOK like strippers or like they are affiliated with the porn industry.[/sarcasm]

quote:
In looking within yourself and the manner in which you perceive and export perceptions, you'll find yourself uniquely positioned to appreciate the challenge that bowling has ahead of it.  YouBowl, as is youself apparently, is not blind to this reality.

In looking within myself, I see everyone complaining about bowling losing its integrity and instead of celebrating this person winning the regional we are making her over.  Next on Extra, Lindsay Lohan is out of rehab and we have the pics!  EX-TRA!

First, I'd like to thank everyone for all of the comments and suggestions regarding the makeover project.  We will take all of these into account as we further our endeavors with the makeover project and other projects affiliated with YouBowl.

As Bill and John previously mentioned, YouBowl is targeting the only growing sector of bowlers - the recreational bowlers.  This crowd is not interested in watching competitive bowling or talking solely about the sport.  So we have devised various projects, i.e. the makeover video, to further spark interest and get people more excited about bowling.

Everyone in the bowling industry realizes that we are losing league and competitive bowlers.  However, if we are able to entice the recreational crowd to get more excited about the sport, then hopefully we could start seeing an increase in league bowlers instead of the depressing decreases of late.

We all love bowling and we all want to see the sport flourish.  YouBowl and the makeover video is trying to accomplish this through creative means and unique concepts.

As far as the makeover video goes, it's going to be conducted just as any other makeover show - hair, makeup, new wardrobe.  The sponsorship of the video is going into the production costs, not paying for the haircut, makeup, etc.  We already have vendors who are donating their services to pay for this.

As most of you know, makeover shows are very popular and we trying to bring that popularity and associate it with bowling, thus bridging the gap between bowling and the recreational bowling crowd.

Again thank you for all of the input!

Well shut me up!  Good luck Missy and much congratulations on your win and successes to date - and here's wishing you much success in all of your endeavors in the future.

Call me crazy, but I'd just like to see videos of you bowling on the youbowl site - but that's probably why I'm part of a fringe minority of bowling fanatics.

Just one word of advice - if you see anything that looks like a stripper-pole at the photo shoot, RUN!!!

BWare,

I read through your full promotional and great you have a plan. As one shucking out dough, where is the interest being shown to Missy outside of you using her as your promotional tool? Does she have a large enough fan base to draw interest? I know by hitting all the major internet sites you are setting feelers to see if you have any bites or at least where you interest is best drawn from. What demographic watch women's makeovers, what % of that group actively or recreationally hit the bowling market? What % of the active market follow the PBA or even realize the regional PBA level? Please don't get me wrong your idea has a shot and hopefully its a hit for Missy and you also. I just don't see the "wow factor" or enough of the "human interest" level to draw the crowd.

Missy,

Good luck in your promotion and also on the lanes.
