Wild Ride is Money

Just wanted to say congrats to Kenny Calkins III who shot 300-778 last week and followed it up this week with 300-299-207 for an 806 series using his Brunswick Wild Ride. Great shooting buddy.

I drilled it using dual angle, 60x5.25x40, no hole.  I've been using it at an AMF center on AMF synthetics, with about 90 units in the heads. So typical medium oil shot.

i would have to agree with inverted the few that i seen thrown left me very unimpressed. but great shooting glad its working for you.

i don't know what to think of the wild ride or whether i should drill it up or not. i have the destruction and was unimpressed to say the least. it stays in the storage room 90% of the time. it always rolls through my break point. i adjust and still rolls too late to recover. so i am not sure that i can go with a ball with the same core

In my opinion, the Destruction is best after the lanes start to transition, maybe the 3rd game and on depending on other factors. I have shot 300 with mine the first game on a fresh pattern playing pretty straight, but I can open up the lane as the games start to accumulate on the pair.

Every one of these balls with the torsion asymmetric core needs to be drilled very strong... almost regardless of your rev rate, or it doesn't want to flare much. With strong layouts, and surface tweaks (if necessary) the Wild Ride and the Destruction can be valuable pieces in your arsenal.

I just had my new Wild Ride drilled up. 4" pin to PAP. MB at 45 degrees. That puts the pin under my ring finger. Took it right from the proshop to the lanes at 1pm. Conditions left over from league on Wed. night. Shot 681. Standing 16 board and shooting 8-9 board. If I threw over the 10 board I was leaving flat 10 pins. Light hits were carrying like crazy. The OOB finish appeared more polished than ruff buff. It was definitely shinier than my AI was when new. Can't wait to try it in league Sun. Night.

Also thanks to notclay for the recommendation on how to drill it up.

My experience has been very positive from day one. The ball is so forgiving when I miss that it's a temptation to throw it every night. Don't be afraid to knock a little "gloss" off to get it to really open up the lane more.

Do like my Wild Ride. First three games were 809 in league play. Wish I could have used it in the last Senior Regional (Taylorville). But, it was too strong at the breakpoint. Have tried it on medium and medium heavy conditions. Ball is very good off the point. Have not seen the "hang" and not finishing that the BJ was talking about last month. Getting ready to drill another one to shine for the shorter patterns. I would recommend it for most league condtions.
