Danger Zone
« on: August 14, 2006, 02:14:43 AM »
Do you guys / gals think the Danger Zone might have a place in my arsenal? I was thinking it might be able to replace my Blazing Inferno. I am looking for something with more of a smooth arc to the pocket rather than a snap. My BI can be good but if the backends are really hooking I can't seem to keep it in the 1-3 pocket. It just snaps to hard. One of my team mate uses the DZ and it seems very controllable.

Have you tried sanding the BI slightly with a high grit? Might add much control and keep the ball from becoming too spasmic.
IMHO, the DZ will read the lane far earlier than the BI. It will be not that snappy, but I am not sure if it would be a good replacement. It also has a lower RG, when I remember right. You might have to drill it quite weak and for length, and even then I am not sure if you will be happy with it on the conditions you (can) use your BI.

What about a BVP Punisher? Or a Smokin' Inferno, if you have money at hand? Maybe a Radical Inferno could also be an option, but it is pretty strong and I have no personal reference yet, so it is just a guess by the numbers.

Another ball I can highly recommend is the MoRich Sahara - Punisher coverstock with a stronger core. Great piece for late games and hoking back end (and a ball that is not present concerning perfomrnace in the Brunswick line-up)
