After several storm balls with less than average longevity, I'm currently thinking of purchasing something from Brunswick.
So far, the Smoking inferno, Regular inferno, and Absolute inferno all look great to me. I'm a stroker with low/medium revs and 14-15mph ball speed, with a high track that usually gets very close/sometimes over the thumbhole.
I bowl two leagues on wood surfaces every friday. I deal with first shift fresh oil, and second shift (drier) lanes. Would any of those infernos mentioned help me out? Do brunswick balls last longer and have better longevity than storm balls?
Any info is greatly welcome here.

My bowling style is very similar to what you have listed for yourself. I mainly shoot down and in.
I would recommend the Inferno, if you can find one. I have it and an Absolute Inferno. I can only use the AI on the wettest of shots in our house. My Inferno does get a little squirty with carrydown. I still manage to find a line.
I haven't used any of the new Zones but I know them to be very good balls.

i use my Absolute inferno on really dry lanes, and really wet lanes. Ive never encountered medium oil at my house. I practice on wet lanes (because i always get there while they are oiling) and my league is 2nd shift so its really dry. Id probably go with the AI or the original inferno for you.

Somehow I have a problem believing that you never see medium oil. Just because it's second shift doesn't mean that it's dry, and just because it's freshly oiled doesn't mean that it's heavy. Unless you have super high speed and low revs, I don't see an Absolute Inferno working well on dry lanes.
Walter,
With your lower speed and since you bowl on wood, I'd lean on the weaker side. I'd look at the Smokin Inferno or save yourself a few bucks and get a Rampage.
I've never had a problem with Storm's longevity, but it's hard to beat the Rampage's PowerKoil 18.

I'm seriously looking into either an Absolute or Smokin Inferno. I want to see for myself how well these balls perform and if they will last longer than what I've have. My ACE, Triple-X, and even my Vertigo have less than 50 games on them and seem like they are half of what they were.

i,ve thrown both and think the absolute will cover more conditions but i polished mine,the smokin can be very over/under and condition specific in my opinion..

I would say right now the absolute is a good ball to get from medium to oily condition. This ball is the bomb. I like this ball better than my Ultimate inferno.

I'm really considering the smoking inferno. Don't get me wrong, I want an Absolute as well but I'm in more of a need for a second shift ball that will return to the pocket pretty hard.
I guess it is time to put my ACE, Vertigo, Triple-X, and Columbia Wild on Ebay. I have too many balls.
