Success with the C*System 3.5
« on: February 04, 2010, 05:50:20 PM »
Well I finally decided on a layout for 3.5 number 2. I ended up drilling it 65 x 6 x 40 with no weight hole. I was hoping it would compliment my pin down 3.5 and it does just that. Tonight in league I started out with a pocket ten pin and then off the sheet for 290, then half way through game 2 my pin down 3.5 started burning up in the mids so I switched to the new pin up 3.5 and finished the game with a 236. And the new 3.5 continued to annihilate the pins every shot in the third game for  300 giving me a set of 826! that makes it 6 honor scores in a month with the new releases! Keep up the great work Big B!

Great shooting again, Jordan.

Too many good choices in the line-up right now. Evil Siege, 3.5, 2.5, Wild Thing, Diamondback, Rattler, Wild Card, Green/Black Avalanche, the list goes on... It's a tough choice every night (but someone's gotta' do it).

Heck, there are nights when they even look good in MY hand (the REAL test)!

Where do you people find a center that puts out enough oil to use these things?

THANKS FOR THE UPDATE Jcom. I FINALLY GOT TO THROW MINE LAST NIGHT. AND ALL I CAN SAY IS "WOW". I HAD BEEN DOING WELL WITH MY FURY, BUT THE C-3.5 IS JUST GREAT. EVEN THOUGH THERE IS A LEAUGE BEFOR OUR SHIFT, (A LOT OF BOWLERS THROWING OLD OR PLASTIC STRAIGHT SHOTS DRAGGING THE OIL FURTHER DOWNLANE) THE RESPONSE TO THE BACKEND IS AMAZING. 279-255-290=824. CITY TOURNEY SHOULD BE MINE. THANKS BIG B. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

notsohotshot...I BOWL IN A CENTER WHERE WE HAVE A REAL LAZY MANAGER WHO REALLY DOSNT LIKE TO DO MUCH, SO HE ONLY OILS ABOUT ONCE A WEEK. IF YOU CATCH IT ON THE RIGHT DAY ITS GREAT. THE WRONG DAY AND YOU COULD BE THROWING YOUR BALL IN A SAND BOX. THATS WHERE THE COPPERHEAD COMES INTO PLAY.

Lanes get conditioned where I bowl. Every lane, every day.

Some lanes get done twice, depending on the day.

In 2 of my leagues we get a decent volume fresh shot that allows some of the higher end equipment to be used, however in my other 2 leagues the most ball I can throw is my extremely polished Wild Ride TE or my Power Groove.

Does the 3.5 squirt in oil/carrydown?

After about a month of using the 3.5 I have not seen it squirt or struggle at all in carry down. I definitely need to have some oil in the heads to use them though.

Where do you guys bowl that you can't find enough oil. I've heard of some parts of the country not conditioning their lanes very well, but these aren't all hook monsters. Are you using the equipment in out of box condition, or are you sanding them down first? All you need is a little head oil and most of them will get down the lane pretty smooth. I have a 2.5 and in out of box condition this ball gets down the lane easily. I've heard the 3.5 needs a little more oil in the heads, but by no means does it need a flood. I guess I'm just "lucky" to bowl in the midwest where there isn't much of an oil shortage.

congrats on the score jcom !

there's plenty of oil in my area for the 2.5 and the 3.5.....the house i use them at has 30 year old wood lanes that are in excellent condition. they clean and oil the lanes when they open and just before evening leagues.

I don't know about everyone else but I bowl in the Little Rock area and can only think of one cntr where I might be able to use these balls. I don't know why,but just about everything I use hooks more than it does for other people. I can usually get thru the heads and mtds but then the left and its gone.
If I try to throw the ball up the boards like most of the other folks here in LR area I end up hitting the 2,4 pins.HELP and I don't drill them that strong

Good bowling Jordan. Keep it up. Hopefully one day I will decide to learn how to bowl again and have success as well. LOL
