Title: Surface Grit on Danger Zone

Just curious as to what the surface grit is on the Danger Zone.  Saw a guy
today throwing it, and it was a monster of a ball.  I believe its the
Powerkoil 18 coverstock? but what surace underneath the polish?

gunny i don't know factory but mine is 360 abralon with brunswick factory finish on top 3 3/8 x 3 3/8 stacked and it hooks just as much as anything that iv'e ever had.use mine now in league just about all the time now.

the original danger zone came from the factory wetsanded 600 grit and then reeived a minute or two on the trusty lustrekleen machine.

These "old favorites" hold nice places in our memory banks don't they?

Back when most of us were using that ball the lanes had much less oil, and the oil was a lower viscosity, too. On today's conditions with the right match up they can still be great weapons. Not long ago i saw a guy just crushing it with an old beat up DZ.

This same cover is on the Copperhead, so theoretically one could get a close reaction if the surface was duplicated.

In my own experience with the Copperhead, and based on my recollection of the Danger Zone, I think we can still get quite close.

Yeah 600 wetsanded with polish was oob I have put mine at 2k and get a very very nice reaction.  Still strong on medium oil.

I'd agree with this. My pro shop had a demo Copperhead I threw for a couple of games and the entire time I was thinking "This reminds me of my old Danger Zone's reaction".

Just actually drilled one up, it is still one hell of a ball. Opens the lane up like no other ball in the bag. You can actually play where you want with reliable backend and no skidding.

the johnny petraglia lt-48 gold was simialr to the danger zone in that they shared the solid powrkoil 18 reactive coverstock. the cores were different. the lt-48 gold used the core from the rhino pro le whereas the danger zone used a modified core from the sapphire blue zone.
