tonight i got to try my swarm in my men's scratch league for the first time. this house has old wood lanes with the laneshield overlay. i was able to play a down and in shot down 7-8 with medium speed alll thru shadow balls and the first game. then the track area started to dry up quick( common for laneshield ). moved in a little and swung the ball. box finish( 400 grit sanded and polished ) is very over/under. will take the ball to my pro shop and have him scuff off the polish and use abralon pads and smooth it up to 4,000 grit and try it this way.

I'm not on wood lanes, but I just hit mine with a white scotch brite to make it a tad more predictable. I'm amazed at how far I can swing that ball out and still get it back, though. Good luck.

Box is very slightly over under but not enough to change it, my low game is still 198 out of now 24 plus games total.

Thanks for the report Greg.... how do you have it laid out? And how would you compare it to other dry lane balls that you have used?

mine is drilled up with the pin next to the ring finger and the cg stacked. there is a hole down near the right thumb quadrant. even polished the swarm is not meant to be a dry lanes ball. powrkoil 18 is far too strong for that. when the track area dries up on the laneshield overlay i move a little left and keep the ball in the oil a little longer down the lane.
