SlayR vs. Ebonite Vortex (original)
« on: October 23, 2004, 10:30:17 AM »
How would a Monster SlayR in general compare to the original Ebonite Vortex?
In league we're on dryer conditions than last year especially down the middle.
It's often difficult to get the ball down-lane enough before hooking.
My Swamp Monster has yet to come out of the bag with my SmashR and Vortex getting the playing time.  For me the Vortex is fine ball for the med-light conditions,
but it is a very strong ball when things start to dry out -- sometimes too
strong I think.  So, is the SlayR a little "weaker" than the Vortex or is it
similar enough that my only gain might be a different read from a different
drilling layout?

I think there were 3 Vortex pearls, laebeled I, II and III.
I assume you were referring to one of these. Which one?

Yes is weaker but not a ton.  But some. WEaker coverstock a little less differential.

Good choice.

PS a lot of people liked that number 1 but it never got the praise of #2.

My favorite ball right now V2 pearl.  Never thought I would say that!
