I'll be getting both of these balls this week and was wondering how much top weight I should look for. Getting balls as part of a sport league and am planning on drilling the Ambush with pin under bridge and cg kicked out (hopeing for around 2" pin) and the Scorchin with a 4x4 layout pin around ring finger height and right of ring finger (hopeing for around a 3" pin). My specs are pap 5" over and 1/2" up, I throw at least 18 mph and have 330 rpm's. What do you think of the drilling choices and how would more or less top weight affect them?

Anything under 4 oz should be fine.

OK, I guess I'll look for lower top weights. What do you guys think of the layouts for a sport pattern based on my specs? Not sure about my axis of rotation but I think I'm more up the back of the ball. With my speed, I rarely hit a condition where things hook too early for me.

my scorchin has a 2-3 pin.
drilled up with pin directly below ring by about 1 inch.
cg directly in between ring and thumb, about 3 inches below ring.
i use it on sport shot and it performs very well.
the sport shot pattern is long with a VERY dry backend. the whole lane, from 1 board on the right to 1 board on the left, it is a lake. It is very long but the back definitely brings the ball back. plastics even have a snap to them on this pattern.

Its hard to play with an inferno and not get burned. Last time I threw my inferno, the opposing bowler definitely got burned.
