Amazing Nite with Absolute
« on: January 18, 2006, 04:42:13 PM »
My local center runs and weekly sweeper on conditions based off of the PBA patterns, and we try and keep up with the tour.  This week we had a version of the pattern used at the Dick Weber Open.
I struggled through the first qualifying game before getting lined up, ended up going 187-213 for the 2 qualifying games, good enough for about 8th out of 48 people (we cut to 24 afterwards, going in a survival mode, top 12 scores advance, top 6, etc.)
In the round of 24, I was fortunate enough to draw the same pair I had just finished on...and what do you know...300!  Since this isn't sanctioned however, still no ring for me, but I was still pleased
The following games were 222 and 245 before a lower scoring final in which I beat two lefties! 204-202-199
So not only did I shoot my first meaningful 300...but also brought home some decent change.
I'd like to thank BrunsNick for the awesome thumb sleeves he made for me, because I know that ball wouldn't have been out there without one!  Thanks Nick!

I'm usually pretty modest about stuff like this...but tonite was just one of those nites that you want to tell the world!  Absolute Inferno WOOOO!!
