Suggestion for new Avalanche(s)
« on: December 30, 2009, 02:19:25 AM »
I have really been enjoying my Avalanche Slide on broken down head conditions. Very, very clean through the heads, yet hits hard off the dry.

It seems as though the economic downturn has resulted in dry to light medium oil being the usually encountered lane conditions, medium oil is now a heavy oil pattern. All my really aggressive coverstock/core stuff is now in my closet.

Okay BrunsBob - how about an Avalanche Danger for the next release - use that good old core from the Danger Zone - after that, maybe an Avalanche Monster with the Red/Black Monster core. I''ll even suggest the colors, the Avalanche Danger will be a polished black solid with red & white logos and the Avalanche Monster will be a polished dark midnight blue solid with red pearl with white logos (or black solid and blue pearl cover if you want). Who knows, customers might be interested in a hybrid with a low Diff. core from Brunswick.

A personal favorite would be an Avalanche "Punisher" with the inverted bell core and N''ControlPowerBoost cover - then again the Danger Zone core would be fine - Make mine black and silver pearl.

Coverstocks in this series would be Powercoil XD, Powercoil 18, N’ControlPowerBoost, or similar proven covers - and yes, a urethane might be just the thing. Cores to be "simple symmetrical" in the .024, .034, maybe even to .044 range

The Brunswick Avalanche Series are a great line with strong performance, and long lasting, low maintenance coverstocks.

A similar series above Avalanche with the asymmetrical Zone Classic core would be nice - wouldn''t complain if it were merged into the Avalanche Series although it might be confusing - like when zones became symmetrical and asymmetrical. The cores you use as your "generic cores" have proven popular for a reason - ball with them are still in many bowler''s bags - they work.

Thanks for the good stuff Brunswick

With the Hype at the moment, why not a urethane Avalanche.

Oldskool core with the cover to match.

I always thought they might take the cover from the Raging Inferno ( particle pearl Activator ) or Sidewinder ( particle Hybrid ) and make an AVALANCHE WARNING.

Make it Black/Orange swirl and add a flip cap to the weightblock to conserve enrgy for the backends.

i just picked it up off ebay, but i have a wild ride t.e. it has the teal rhino
core with the connexion cover. i haven't rolled it yet, but when i do & if like
it, i'll post. but i think it's going to be good & should be production ball in
the avalanche series.

I for one would LOVE to see a urethane Avalanche, or even better a urethane "snake".

A.M.F. used the COBRA name before. Once quite a few years ago, then again in the late 80's. http://images.bowlingball.com/ProductImages/3808-lp-1.jpg ( couldn't find a pic of the older plastic one, but a friend has one, so I know it exists.)

I love my avalanche pearl and would like to see some more of the avalanche stuff.

Retro is popular, when you see a Sapphire Zone 15lbs NIB go for $300(8/09) on ebay you know its something that would see some solid sales numbers.

Make a Avalanche Blue Ice, and let it be like a un-offical re-release of the Sapphire Zone Pearl/Blue Ice.

(pic from brunsnick)

I know people that would literally kill to get a NIB one of those. I would buy it(a avalanche version) just because of how great the Sapphire Zone was.

I loved the pearl proactive cover on the power groove plum. That ball rolled extremely smooth and wasn''t too jumpy on the backends.

…… you can't  add a physics term to a bowling term and expect it to mean something.

That's a ball that would get a vote from me, too, as a replacement for the Urethane Groove with a bit more roll and punch. Maybe even rise the RG a bit (e. g. with a low density nucleus).

Another idea I'd throw in (even though particle seems to be out of style at the moment...) is an Avalanche with the cover from the Proactive Purple Pearl Power Groove - a light particle load cover, polished. That one could IMHO be a good ball for spotty lanes and late games on outside lines on higher volumes, and with some surface it could even tackle fresher shots, just without covering tons of boards.

I still have a Brunswick Fuze Eliminator in my bag. This has basically a Powercoil 18  coverstock, with a light particle load. It is a very nice ball on medium oil with carrydown - very good carry with predictable roll.

I also have an Eliminator, and keep it until it falls apart. Mine is drilled rolly and strong, and it is a great oil ball for me. One of the most underrated balls Brunswick ever launched onto the market!

I'd like to see the Avalanche Blue/Orange, basically a remake of the hard hitting Revolution ball the RevolutionIST Blue/Orange.
