Fury
« on: September 02, 2007, 11:06:39 AM »
I was thinking about picking up a Fury and since it's been out for about four months, there should be ample reviews on it.  Those who have it, how has it been thus far?  Have you experienced ball death after 50-60 games, like most balls or is it still working?

Also, how does it handle heavy oil and double head oil?  From what I heard, it's the biggest hooking ball on the market and just wanted some opinions, before I pick one up.

Thanks....

Would not say it is the BIGGEST hooking ball out there, but it is a hook monster. I brought mine up to 1000 abralon to help go a little longer. But it is still a monster when it turns the corner.

As long as you keep it clean, you should get alot of life out of this ball.

I have had mine since feb and it has been working great. I have fooled around with the sruface and found that 1000 abralon works the best for me. Also about it handling heavy oil I used it on the TOC pattern and it worked great. Also I have probly over 100 games on it and have havent noticed any loss of hook. I clean mine with simple green and water after every use.

there is no such thing as ball death in a brunswick reactive or particle ball-----there is only ball neglect. clean your ball after every use, extract the oil with a rejuvenator/revivor every 50-100 games, and resurface the ball when needed and your brunswick ball will last for hundreds of games.

Greg is absolutely right!

But the ball is amazing once you match up the cover prep with your game.  You can go from extreme dull to shiny and just play different areas of the lane.

I've had mine for a few weeks now and I must say, it is a really good ball for me.

I had it in box finish for the first week, but it was WAY too much for me like that, so I took it up to 1500 ( finest grit the shop had ) and highly polished it with finesse it.

Ball retained more energy, but still had a good read of the midlanes for me on a medium shot.  Has a powerful, but controlled, backend reaction and carries great.  Holding the polish pretty good also, not burning off quickly like I have had other balls do.  About 40-50 games on it now with no apparent loss of performance.

Overall, I would have to rate it a solid 8 on a 1-10 scale. ( Solid 8, imagine that!)

i dont have one ,but one of my teamates does. He is a legit 170 to 180 bowler and he picked up 10 pins on his avg. using it last year with oob surface.I bowled a local tourney in june and a guy was using one that was polished and it was hooking the whole lane . it would hold line and carry and when he got it right it smashed the pins. I have been really impressed with it from what i have seen. I havent bought one because it would realy just overlap with what i have.
