so i recently purchased a ultimate inferno remake since i am in need of a heavy oil ball. i was wondering what if i put a rico drill on it? what reaction would i get if i throw around 14.5MPH, with 250-300 rev rate?

The remake is not quite as dull as the original. Although Brunswick uses the same description, I would guess it's closer to a 2000 abralon finish. You may need to dull the surface with a grey or green scotch brite if you're seeing LOTS of oil.

To answer your question, the Rico layout tends to smooth out reaction for most. It starts earlier and is continuous, but not jumpy on the back ends. Mine is a great rolling ball. Good luck.

Well, if it's not too late, keep in mind that the Ultimate is already a smooth arching type of hook, and with your slightly slower speed you might find that the Rico does not retain enough energy for you down lane.
I for one, have started using extra holes in most of my stuff, but the Ultimate is one that has always rolled better for me with no hole. So, I would consider a slight label shift that requires no hole (can be added later if a slight reaction change is needed). Keep the pin further up than Rico, and somewhere around 4 1/2 to 5" from you PAP.
