Title: Vapor Zone + Sarge Easter = WHOA!!!!
Post by: bigearv14 on March 21, 2006, 04:13:11 PM
I just got a Vapor zone and gave it my experimental Sarge Easter drilling. I drilled it pin above bridge, MB right of thumb and OH MY GOSH!!!!

No offense Nick, but i make your hook look like nothing!!! No, but seriously, my line closely resembled the line on his Smokin' Inferno video, if anybody caught that.

I was playing left gutter to the 2 board at about 21-22 mph!!! Came back at about 48 feet everytime and a couple of times, came in face. I couldn't believe it, so I think I am switching to the Sarge Easter full time, but maybe should drill something a little less aggressive. I'm getting a Punisher soon, and I think I'll lay it out the same way. Hope it works!!

Thanks

Oh...and another thing. My ring finger hurts quite a bit. Any tips on how to prevent this or will my fingers adapt after enough use?

What's your pitches in the ring and span?

Also, how much bevel are you using?

Sounds like not enough reverse in the ring finger, or too much span.

the pitches on both fingers are 0,0. a decent amount of bevel in the ring, was thinking of adding more, but would rather consult someone who throws it more often.

i drilled my actual span on the middle finger and about 7/8" less on the ring finger.

When I drilled a Sarge grip, I pitched the ring finger away 3/8ths.

0, 0 in BOTH fingers??

I'm glad you're not an experimental doctor!

lol, 0,0 in the MF feels fine, but no one in town throws the SE grip. Me and my friend are the first we know of, so no pro shop owner knew what to do, so we had to even measure it ourselves!!! the span is fine, but i do need to change the pitch.

what do you use nick? 3/8" away sounds good, but just not sure.

You also need some right pitch in the ring, go 5/8th right.

For the reverse, if you're around 3 1/2, go 1/4 rev. If you're 3 3/4ish go 3/8th.

Left gutter to 2 board at 22mph?  Either you bowl on the sahara or your rpm rate is well over 600....

The other more likely option is the Great Wall of CHINA.  You'd be amazed what kind of line you can throw if the backends are clean and the outside 5 boards are sandpapered like some house shots.

my name is a joke, Im a power tweener at best but I dont bo around wering my revrate as a medal. nor do I go around posting my revrate is so big or well my revrate lets me play 1-1-1 no prob. its all good if you have it but dang you dont need to have a parade about it.

and sarge easter is full finger tip in middle finger and conventional in the ring.

I do have an above average rev rate, heck, I'm 20, I'm supposed to aren't I?

Anyway, I have been told that I have a good tilt axis tilt among other things, that allow me to get a ton of hook on the backends, with balls that most people can't get to flinch, whatever that means. Gutter to 5 board at 18-19mph was always easy with the right ball, but the additions of the new drilling and the Vapor Zone made hooking the ball a piece of cake. Normally, I don't care about hook so much, but the carry off the 2 board is amazing. Strong entry angle with high speed...FEAR ME!!!!
