Weird Track on Power Groove Proactive?
« on: March 01, 2006, 11:03:42 AM »
I have solid Power groove that works really well drilled with the pin about 3 1/2" stacked so I thought I would experiment with the Black Sparkle. The Black sparkle (drilled the same) is tracking like I put the pin down by the thumb, but it is up and next to the ring finger (just like the solid Groove). The bowtie is not even close to where you would expect it to be. All my equipment tracks about 1" left of finger and thumb and flares as expected. but this ball is tracking way over the finger holes. The initial track is OK but the flare pattern is bizarre. I've never seen anything like it. Is it possible the pin is not marked properly due to the ball not really having a typical weight block in it?

Any info appreciated.

John,

It has to be since you drill all your own stuff.    Remember the pin  is that little colored spot that usually goes somewhere around your ring finger and the little indent is the cg.  Don't confuse them.

HE HE HE HE!!!

The pin on both grooves is 3 1/2" from PAP. Both 2 1/2" up from the midline right next to the finger. My PAP is over 5" and up 3/4". My X from the flare bowtie with pin drilling would normally (except on this ball) be about 1" above and 1" to the left of the middle finger.   The only difference is the black proactive ball has a shorter cg. It is about 1" above the midline and other groove cg is on the midline.

On the black particle, the one flare spot is down left of the thumb, so the other one way above the fingers. It is flaring way over both finger holes. If I use a low pin drilling I will sometimes clip the middle finger but this really weird. The flare spot is not on a line from PAP, thru pin to the track, it is 6" below that.

Mrteach3 said I should have put the pin under the ring finger but then again he was using a emerald green white dot on friday, or was that a Hammer Road Kill, hard to tell the reaction was about the same

You are killing me John.  I deserved that for sure.    Nice 300 with your Black sparkly girly ball.
