> pearl ball for medium conditions

Know Brunswick stuff somewhat but not DV8 so apologies in advance but that upcoming (edit: comes out next week woot) Brunswick Fanatic BTU pearl looks pretty boss for light to medium light and toasty conditions and would be a solid step down from the medium oil Brute Strength.  Then again I am a sucker for the urethane roll.  If you want a true medium pearl and throw 15lb that Brunswick Vintage Danger Zone Black Ice SE looks sick as all get out as well (same cover as the Quantum Fire Pearl).

(Edit:  as usual lol look below for voice of reason instead of what I am drooling over currently)

Just a thought, but that new freak show flip may fit the bill, with a pearl coverstock, may fit between your diva, and bruth strength ( providing you change the surface to not have be similar to your Devine).

Yeah, I would go with something polished and flippier to give you a different look. Can go under or over the Brute Strength depending on when you like to use that ball.

There aren't a ton of options for under in the Big B family though. The Alley Cat, Rhino, and upcoming Fanatic BTU Pearl might about it. Radical has the Cyclops but that's probably just as strong (if not stronger) as the Brute Strength.

Lots of options for over. Just depends on how strong you want to go.

The Rhino is even a step down from the Fanatic BTU isn't it?  That ball goes even longer than the Blue Hammer and is just as weak if I remember right.  Definitely a dry only or even spare ball.

No, the Rhino is not a dry only or spare ball. Mine works well on anything less than fresh medium oil.

Recently someone from Brunswick said the Rhino cover is slightly weaker than the original Activator cover

The 2 holes that I see are a stronger pearl or hybrid to give you more length than your Pitbull but more motion downlane than the Divine along with a weaker pearl for when the Brute Strength picks up too early.
My recommendations for the stronger would be either a Mastermind Brainiac or original Vandal and either a Rhino or Alleycat for your dry lane option.

Yes there  is a bit of sticker shock but won't regret it if you have ever gotten blisters doing ball surface management by hand.  Those go away with a spinner.  If nothing else allows you to keep spare ball almost factory finish polished every set with very little effort which actually can increase your score.

Not to take away from the topic, anybody ever take rhino or an alleycat and give it some surface? If you haven't tried it...you ought to. You would be amazed the performance you can get out of those balls by doing that. I'm not a staffer and I throw mostly storm/roto and those 2 balls really impress me.

Yes, I did with my Rhino and you are correct!

I drilled my Rhino with the Rico layout to keep it smooth, and by knocking the gloss off it was still smooth, but stronger.  Good post tburky.
