Stuck between decision
« on: January 28, 2007, 03:23:03 PM »
Well, the Rampage is working out really well for the dry to medium oil conditions.  More than I can ever ask for.  The total inferno is not seeing as much time as I thought it would but its still good to have it in the bag.  I am looking for a third ball to carry around.  I was deciding between either the vapor zone which I hear is a good ball, and the black widow.  I just wanted to know some opinions before I ordered anything.  I want this ball to have a different reaction in case one day these two do not work.  Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks again!

I think the Vapor will fit in between those to better than a Black Widow.

That is what I thought too, from the specs and everything the BW seems to be stronger, they are both good balls. I did need something not as strong so the vapor zone would be good too.

VZ will be longer and more oil sensitive than the BW. But it can be itchy. IMHO, a slightly more consistent opion could also be the Red Zone, or a Wizard with a finer surface finish, say 1.500 grit or less, e. g. 2.000 Abralon.

I think with the huge number of people that are having great success with the Widow, you should give that one a try.

Mr. Lebowski, this is Bill Salnicker with the Southern Cal Bowling League, and I just got a, an informal report, that a member of your team, uh, Walter Sobchak, drew a firearm during league play. If this is true of course, it contravenes a number of the league's by-laws, and article 27 of the league...

DOUG:  Yeah, because she thought you were some kind of freak!

I have had both and still have both my BW's. The BW is a much more versatile ball and is the better choice in my opinion.

Black Widow is gunna be ball of the Year for a reason...

I really didnt like MY Widow tho.

I guess you could go either way.

(My opinion is drill a BVP Wizard since you already have 2 Brunswick balls in your bag)

Unless you soak the  ball in car oil, I find it hard to believe that any ball dies after 100 games or less. It is just like all other equipment. You need to clean the ball after every few games to take care of it. Some people just throw the ball every week and toss it in the bag till next time. It might lose some performance from abuse like this, but just take care of it and it will take care of you.
