Why IS BrunsNick on staff?
« on: March 06, 2008, 12:49:14 PM »
Inspired by the most knowledgable posters on this forum!

quote:
I'm suprised Brunswick actually lets you go around making fun of people and continually arguing and causing stupid sht...

I know my boss doesn't let me do it.. especially since he reads on here.. so if I say something dumb I get told about it! :-p

If that was the case for you, you would actually get kicked off Brunswicks staff. Actually whats more suprising is that you even on their regional staff? Very few top 16 runs on the regional tour, no wins.. how many people do you know on the inside that make sure you stay on staff? Especially since Brunswick is one of the, if not THE, hardest company to get on staff with!

You wanna question Lane #1.. now lets question you!

(And no comments how I'm not on staff.. I'm also 19, still a junior bowler, and I never wanna be on staff.. even if I ever got to the point where I could.)

I am definitely not the best bowler in my Region. I definitely don't have any titles. I don't make very many finals...

So why bother putting a donk like me on staff?!?!

Yo, Nick,

I used to post here a lot about 2-3 years ago, and I wanted a hat back then. Why I didn't get one, is because as Grandma Gilomre said:
"I would have... but I didn't have any money!"

Are these hats still availible? On your apparel site maybe? I haven't checked.

Thanks

Yep, the hats are available on the site for $25.00 shipped, FlexFit branded hats with any logo you'd like.

Well,
I'm not trying to keep this post on the top, I just wanted to speak about how I feel about Nick. (Now down on one knee) If I were on both we'd have to charge or atlest take it to a different forum.  Just kidding!!!!!!

Alright that was kinda creepy, sorry Nick!!!

I've messaged Nick a few times and he's gotten back to me very quickly and answered any questions I've had.  I'm not a Big B guy.  The last "Brunswick" I owned was a Control Zone, great ball and a lot of hook. Although I've thrown and liked a few Lane #1 balls, mostly the Enriched and Solid Uraniums.  Which both have Brunswick covers.  I also had one I was dissapointed in.  Just didn't matchup for me on the condition it was intended for.  It doesn't matter.  We're talking about Nick, he has dedicated himself to provide quality insight and information to bowlers about the company he believes in.  His websites offer a ton of information that helps bowlers who want to learn more than just swiggin bears and bumpin' it off the wall.  Am I sick of the debates? Yes, just like most of us are.  Do I think all parties involved take it too far.  Ofcourse, the carrying on is stupid, and discourages people who are thinking of posting questions or videos to get feedback on their game.  Most can handle constructive criticism, but the insults and out right attacks are stupid.  Beer muscles with a keyboard.  Don't get me wrong sometimes it can be funny, if the posters can keep a relaxed and fun side to it.  This isn't pointed, or directed towards anyone inparticular.  Don't question why Nick is on staff, question why it matters so much to you when you don't like or throw their stuff anyways.  Obviously he's there for a reason.  The same way Mike is for Lane #1.  HARD WORK AND DEDICATION.  Rant off.

Keep up the great work Nick!!!!

No way disrespecting you here, as I enjoy reading what you say. However 120,000 hits is relatively nothing. I am a web developer on the side, and in January this year one of my sites got 5,214,106 hits. On the web, 120k is quite small. However i do enjoy your site.

uber, I suppose it all comes down to the niche of the website. Anything bowling related will always be small beans in the big picture. Even ballreviews.com doesn't come close to 5M hits/year.

Thanks for the kind words though.

My lowest site get's over 500k uniq hits a day. I'm not even a web designer by trade as I do network security. I guess people are more interested in being informed then anything.

Although it's against my better judgement to respond in this forum anymore, I just wanted to come on and say that Nick is a great asset to Brunswick and is also a great friend. He is perfect for Brunswick and he's a damn good shop guy. He's the type that brings people to bowling, so in that sense, he's not only good for Brunswick, he's good for bowling in general.

Now, go out and earn one of those PBA banners. I predict he wins one in the next 12 months.

I bought like 3 or 4 shirts from him after he posted pics of the samples...I could resist wearing a Brunswick shirt around in tournys...
One thing I dont think many people would think of was his first vid with his new swirl shoes...
At the time I had outgrown my SST 7's and was looking for a pair of shoes with the comfort of the SST 7 but with a little more flair. I cant stand staight black or blue shoes. They suck. So I went into the shop that day and looked at getting a pair of swirls in the green/orange. Sur enough, I bought a pair 2 days later and have loved them aver since.

The videos are great, the fact that he can make people laugh and be serious about their bowling at the same time is great, and when you need his expertise, all you gotta do is ask him.

Its always great to have you and some of the other staff on these boards. Thanks for blowing all those hours helping the needy, lol...

Thanks,
Chrispy

You provide more of a service than most pro shops or amatuer staff members, by staying busy on the boards, posting videos, and helping possible customers.  You have to look past all the negative people and focus on the positive.

I'm glad to learn all the reasons why Nick is on staff.  I knew it couldn't be because of looks.  He is only a sizzle lean notch or two above me.  My pugs are better looking than I am, you do the math.......

I heard he slept with all the top officials at Brunswick and secretly taped them.
