Why not bring back Proactive 2.0?
« on: April 10, 2009, 05:34:45 AM »
This is just an idea.  In reading the description of proactive 2.0, the pamphlet stated that the coverstock absorbed oil 10 times slower then other coverstocks.  This is an idea from what, about 9-10 years ago.  With people complaining about coverstock longevity with other manufacturers, why wouldn't Brunswick bring back this concept and emphasize it.  It wouldn't have to be in proactive, because the pamphlet (included with the contact zone I believe) said that it was an additive.  I recall it mentioning that oil stayed on top of the cover after 30 minutes, when it took approximately 3 minutes for other covers to absorb the oil.  Wouldn't this be good marketing?  I ask this merely for discussion purposes?
Thanks,
Dennis

Greg, I only fixed the Blast Zone.  Mr. Jim Nesbitt is sending me some IT thumbs to try, so I didn't drill the Ultra Zone or either of the Strike Zones.  Avalanche has some plug work to do yet.

Man, is the Blast Zone a nice ball.  Pin under the bridge about 4 1/2 from PAP with the mass bias at about 60 degrees, no hole.  This ball rolls great, hits really good.  I can't hit the same place twice yet, but this is a nice ball.  Box surface, hooks about the same amount as my Cell, but sharper, Cell is box dull.  Makes more excited about the Ultra Zone.

Brick, I drill my own stuff even if I'm at Anne Marie's.  This time I went to Heritage.  It is closer to home by about 15-20 minutes.  His press is faster, her Jayhawk jig is nice, but it takes longer.  I'm used to the Vacu Jig, which is lightning fast compared to either of these two.

Mike, I wish you could drill mine. Donnie's drilling has gotten not so good on the last 3 bballs he has drilled for me.

I've never met the guy in person and he drills mine, but I don't know what kind of time he has (and how much time you have to wait) If you both have time and you have a spec sheet or a comfortable ball to send him to figure out the specs (I know some drillers are weird about telling you your own specs and that drives me nuts), Mike will do a great job for you...I've had many (more than I'd wish to admit) drilled by him and have been happy every time.

Holland, no doubt in my mind about Mike. I've met and talked to Mike a few times and have heard about his drilling and even saw him drilling for someone out of town once in Edmond at Anne Marie's shop and was very impressed at the care he was taking to get the pitches and span exact. Thus, with his fitting knowledge and drilling skills, I wish he had his own drill to drill for others.
