Dying c-system 3.5
« on: February 25, 2010, 01:19:10 PM »
Anybody having trouble with their c-system dying?  I've got about 20 games on the ball and I can already tell that the ball is starting to die.  The "pop" I used to get on the back end is gone and it just seems to roll the whole lane.  I was five boards left of where I usually stand (I'm left handed) and it still seemed like it wasn't getting up.  I know it wasn't the shot as it's always the same plus I pulled out my old Shift with about a few hundred games on it and I had to move back five right.  Anybody else having this problem?

1. How often do you clean this ball? It should be after EVERY use and before putting it back in the bag.

2. It is meant to be used on a good deal of oil, not a house shot. If you have more ball speed than revs, you could possibly use it on medium oil, but it's not really designed for that.

3. As someone already mentioned, the surface is one of the newer 500 grit/4000 grit surfaces. That puts a lot of "teeth" on the surface, requiring a good deal of head oil. If you smooth it out to 500 grit, 1000 grit, 2000 grit, 4000 grit, you can use it on less oil. Polish is also an option. If you want to try polish, try it on top of 1500 or 2000 grit surface.
