Title: Zone Classic(Red pin) vs. Dry/r
Post by: sportbowler on September 24, 2005, 05:27:35 AM
I'm looking into getting one of these balls to replace my Ebonite Ice for light to dry conditions. I'm looking for a smooth reaction with not allot of backend reaction. Which one would work better on dry conditions?  Have any of you had good success with the balls?

Thanks,

Daniel

from my experiance the dry/r is awesome on dry lanes

Its round, has three holes, and you stick your fingers in it.

Well, I have owned a Dry/R and thrown a red pin, and at least in my hands, the red pin was much smoother.  The ball was drilled weak, to roll early and it did just that...smoooooooooooth.  The dry/r seemed a tad too jumpy for me, even drilled 2x2.

I agree the red pin is very smooth for me.  One of the better balls I have thrown and the carry is excellent. Got it for $45.00 shipped off e-bay and couldn't be happier with it.

I have the Red pin and my wife has the Dryr.  I have more speed and revs, but the RPZC is much smoother than her Dry/r.  I actually think the RPZC is a better choice for high rev players.

I have the ZC Red Pin and find it a good ball for med/light.Mine is drilled pin over bridge and is too strong for for dry.
I also have the Track Desert Heat.If you want super smooth on dry this is the ball you need. Also found the carry to be significantly better with the Desert Heat.

Thanks everyone for your replies.

Some of you just said the ball was smooth, which is good, But how does it work on dry?

Thanks again
