Zone Classic Drilling
« on: March 29, 2005, 07:33:21 PM »
I've picked up a used ZC(thanks barry), not sure of the current drill pattern.  My buddy has one and it is drilled pin above bridge, psa in the strong position next to the thumb(val side).  Since we are close in span, I was able to throw it and wow was I impressed.  That experience prompted me to purchase one.

What I would like to hear from you guys is..

How is your ZC drilled?
Where does it fit amongst other bwick balls you have?
Have you been able to use it on a variety of conditions?

I was thinking of going with the pin above bridge(approx 5.5 from axis) like I mentioned above.  Or I was thinking of drilling it like a TZ I had.  Pin under ring(approx 4.5), psa on val; this gave me a nice hook-set reaction.

My zone classic is drilled with the Pin over bridge, and the CG kicked out by the thumb (5" pin), PSA between thumb and VAL.  It clears the heads as long as there is decent oil, an when it hits the backend, it FLY'S and hits like a truck. I dont have any other brunswick equipment, but it handles oil then my WMB, and a good bit more than by Big Hit Pearl (obviously).  But in reality, my v2 Sweet handles about the same, just a drastically different reaction (thats all in the drilling I know).

NIIIICE! I'm thinking about picking up another ZC and trying out a more "snap" drilling.

That drilling you have with the PSA that far out and the x-hole should have a very strong "snap" to it, no?

I believe this would give me a real nasty backend, which isn't what i am looking for.  Thing is, I've never had anything close to this drill, so I am not positive.
