Zone Classics

I just picked up a brand new 16lb ZC on Ebay for $40 shipped, and I even got the top weight and pin I requested.  What's the deal with all of these on Ebay?  Is there a massive amount of overstock or something?

I'm not complaining, because I think that's an awesome deal for the ball.  But I wonder why there are so many of them on ebay, because they can't be making much money on them when they're selling that cheap.

It's not a red pin, but it is the violet version.  I won the auction for $20, and shipping was $20 more.  Still a great deal I think.

Hehe, I guess the F.O.S. isn't quite up to date on Brunswick covers.

My understanding on the Violet is that the coverstock (Activator) cured even longer than the Red Pin and will go straighter than the Red Pin. Order would be:

Green Pin
Red Pin
Violet color

Thought it was an off color run (similar to the Ultimates that were all blue) or a special request, but then read elsewhere it was a harder straighter version of the red pin.

We actually Sold alot of the off color blems around Christmas and if they are the same lighter color ones they actually hook a touch more than the 1sts that are darker.

According to Brunswick the Violet Classic is supposed to be the same ball as the original, and the Red Pin is the one that has the extra hardness due to overcuring.

The correct order by hooking ability is:

Violet=Original
Red Pin

I'm not questioning the balls themselves. I was just wondering why there are so many selling on ebay, and why they are so cheap.  It seems weird to be able to pick up a brand new, quality ball for $20 or less plus shipping.

Where my bad info came from. They also list the Red Pin as using the SlayR cover which we know that is not true. If it is truly just an off color and the same ball then it is all good. If this is similar to the ones that were out almost 1 1/2 years ago then I actually had one in 16lb and loved it but had a hard time getting a consistent feel for it drilling wise and sold it.
