Layout Needed for Scorchin Inferno
« on: March 03, 2006, 07:19:51 AM »
Just received my Scorchin Inferno.  Pin is only 1-3/8in. from CG (wanted a larger pin-out but no luck).  I love my Smokin Inferno, its drilled stacked leverage c/w balance hole (pin 2-1/2 in above CG).  Ideally i would like a something pretty similar but not an identical layout for my SCI (also seem to better with the CG kicked out to side with balance hole (track is pretty close to my thumb hole).  I bowl with medium speed but with high revs.  Also going to polish it up but what are my options? Suggestions? Thanks?

got one of mine drilled up like this. . .

----------

early roll, smooth arc to the pocket. very nice and predictable. though it is OOB finish, not polished like you want yours.

Its hard to play with an inferno and not get burned. Last time I threw my inferno, the opposing bowler definitely got burned.

Chrisp... did you drill your SCI with a balance hole? or did it not require one? thanks

IMO it would be preferable to lay it out so that it doesn't require an XH;  that way, you could always add one later if you wanted to tweak the dynamics.

And a word to the wise:  The Scorchin' is shaping up to be a lot like the Ultimate in that a slight change to the surface can make a significant difference in reaction.  So don't be afraid to play around with surface preps before you go the XH route.
