zone
« on: July 12, 2010, 10:50:00 AM »
I have a zone ball free so what kind of zone is it?  There is no side hole or other lettering than a white Z on both sides of the finger holes and the word ZONE on the left side of fingers in red. One red dot and the brunswick B is above the fingers..........stamped on ball DK17066  MADE IN USA
I would like to have this ball plugged and drilled to fit me.   Years ago my old ZONE ball had a 4th hole on the side
Is a side hole on a zone ball come from factory as such?
Please tell more about this ball

No ball will come from the factory with holes in it.(except for the ones you get at sporting good stores) If you were to add a picture or two you could have a good answer very quickly.

I do not have pictures to post
I was thinking it was a DANGER ZONE ball but there is no word danger on it
 The sides Z is white
Never heard of the "black ice" one, will google to find out more

Will this ball hook for a right hand bowler?

It could also be an older Target Zone. Very hard to say. Hopefully your ball driller will be able to tell you.

Serial number. All of the bowling balls have them. What is the main color of the ball?

My old Danger Zone was a used gift, I had it plugged and redrilled.  This was a 15 pounder with a side hole.  I had it finished with the courses grade finish allowed.   I seem unable to control a ball with a long or full back swing so I tend to cradle the ball on approach and throw it some distance.  This Zone ball was never moving fast down the lane but when it hit, the pins would fly.  I sent more pins past the  sweeper bar than any one in the league.  One time I sent a pin two lanes over and stopped in the far gutter.   Some other guys threw hard and you could here it.   There ball seemed like is was not on the lane very long.  My old zone would rev down the oil  and just hook on the dry.  I had to throw  harder to get more distance when things dry up.  Then I found GLIDE ball cream.

that is what it looks like.  I have been searching as well.  The white part in the Z top have come out.  Lost like an inch or more of the Z where it starts.  On both sides even.  Bathroom scale says this is a 16 pounder
Now I have to talk to a drill man on how to lay this out. I do not know how.
