More often than not, when I do a user search, I get the following message or something very similar;
quote:
ADODB.Recordset error '800a0e78'
Operation is not allowed when the object is closed.
/currentuserlist.asp, line 88
Is this a bug with BR's software or am I doing something wrong? It is annoying when I can't find info on a member. Can something be done to correct this?
Thanks for any assistance.

looks like a database problem to me.
maybe a read lock or permissions issue?

I've been getting the same error

I agree that it must be a dB problem also, it is intermittent so I don't think it is a read lock or permissions error. I am not a DB expert, but have used enough of them to know something on the matter.
This being the bug forum, I think the software developers here may want to know about the problem.
At least one could hope so anyway.

That problem seems to have existed for many years...however, I don't remember it being quite so prevalent when Scott was in the point person...

This is a database problem as others have suggested and we are looking into possible fixes. The reason this has become more prevalent over the years has a lot to do with the increase of active users. More users means more connections to the database. We will do everything that we can though to ensure that BR remains functional and useful .
