Title: Frank the Tank
Post by: Stever5000 on December 26, 2006, 01:49:29 PM
Has anyone ever dealt with him before?

Also, has anyone ever came across someone saying "check/money orders take 7-10 days upon approval."  I've never heard of such thing.. just wondering if anyone else has.

This is not in any way/shape/form slander against Frank the Tank.

not sure what its intended meaning is either, but I have deal with Frank before and never had a problem with his transactions, always smooth and up front.

Money orders have to be paid for when they are purchased, so they are "almost" always legit.

While this may be true here 99% of the time....it's that 1% that will burn you on a big purchase item if not legit.  There are more stories out there about fake money orders.

My bank puts a 5 business day hold on all out-of-state Money Orders over $250.  It caused a little issue for me once because they had never done it in the past and I always told my buyers that M.O.'s would ship next day.  I went into the bank to deposit it and was hit with the "our new policy...yada yada yada".  I'm sure many other banks are starting to do the similar things.  The buyer wasn't too happy when I told him so I went ahead and shipped anyway.  Now whenever I sell something I included the fact that there may be a delay in processing out-of-state m.o.'s.

"Check/money orders take 7-10 days upon approval no questions asked"

Should I risk the 35 bucks?  Does this sound fishy to anyone else?

I think the point is it's becoming a policy at some places.

I went ahead and agreed to the deal.  I don't mind waiting the extra time, don't get me wrong.  I just wondered if anyone else had ever heard of such thing.  That's what questions are for, after all.

Thanks everyone for helping me with this.  I'm a little bit naive sometimes.

The deal fell through.  He gave the ball away or something.
