How to search?

This may not be the right place for this, but none of the other fora seemed to match, so here goes:

I have seen posts mentioning the ability to search forum posts but I have not figured out how to do it myself.  I know that the Gold Membership included the ability to search, but I thought the the Gold Membership left with Scott.  Is the problem that I was never a Gold Member and therefore I still do not have the ability to search?

but to get to it, go into any of the forums and look towards the top.  There should be a search link
