Question for BR users.
« on: October 02, 2006, 07:31:12 AM »
Recently in the past I purchased a NIB 15# Lane 1 Blueberry
from a BR member.   I have resold it as I decided not to drill
it myself.   I have received payment from the person who bought
it as well.   At this point I pulled the ball out of the box to
do a full inspection before shipping it due to the cost of the
ball involved.   It looks as though either a sizable spot on
the bottom of the ball has been repaired or a thumb hole was
originally drilled in and filled in with a near perfect color
match.   My question is this:   How do I go about approaching
the original person who sold it to me as obviously I was
buying A NIB originally and obviously this has been plugged?

Number two, I have offered the person that bought it from me
a full refund of the money due to it.

Thanks,
Joe

I would approach the Seller with courtesy, but be straight forward and direct in your inquiry about it ... and see what the reply is and if there is a willingness to correct the issue.
Regarding number two ... I believe that you did the right thing bu making that offer.

Well it was sitting on the bottom in the box and I didnt take it out
to get a good look at it.   Partially my fault but still it shouldnt
have been sent the way it was.   A little time has gone by since the
original deal (maybe a month or so) so was just wondering what the
best way to approach it was.

Thanks,
Joe

Are you 100 percent sure they are not brunswick factory plug's???? They used these alot in the past i have had at least 5-6 balls with sometimes multiple factory plugs on them. Just a thought also email or pm the specs on the balls discussed yesterday you slow person.

Barry
PM sent.      Its not factory plugs.  Its the size of a 1 1/4 slug
hole nearly so there is no way it was a factory fix.

you did not look at the ball after receiving it in the beginning?

I have bought approx 75 NIB balls via the internet. I have rarely examined anyone thoroughly, such as would be needed in Joe's case. I regard myself as almost anal with respect to what a ball should be like when I receive one, but am usually fairly easy going about such matters.

I would say after examining it and feeling it that it is some sort of
fix as the place where it is would be on the bottom of the ball for any
layout and doesnt correspect to a thumb hole position, slug position or
even a weight hole.   Now I have drilled a small hole into the plug and
its obvious that it was a fix job.   Needless to say im pissed.

It isnt a factory plug job.  I cant imagine the factory
would do that.  Also it looks like I can see some leftover
bevel knife marks on it from scraping it down as well.
This is my first bad transaction on BR being on the buying
end.   I hope the person I made the deal gets in touch
with me and plans on making it right instead of me having
to post the users' name out here.
