chrisleftwich is bad news! *READ*
« on: April 02, 2007, 05:26:40 AM »
Kind of a long story but basically me and chrisleftwich had a trade, 2 of his used balls for 1 of my new ones. We both agreed to ship Monday(today) but at 8:09am this morning I get a message..
From: chrisleftwich
Received: 4/2/2007 8:09:30 AM
Subject: trade
Message: Please do not ship!!!!! I cannot do this deal anymore. I bowled a tournament this Saturday and ended up needing the Big R Bang, so i have found a need for this ball.

LUCKILY, I read my private messages this morning because I was just about to leave for FedEx, I had the ball ready to ship(labeled, boxed up,sealed)!

A few hours after he messaged me with that BS, he went into the Wanted / For Sale / Trades forum and at 10:51am, he did a ttt! Can you believe this? Check it out: http://www.ballreviews.com/Forum/Replies.asp?TopicID=157131&ForumID=26&CategoryID=5

First off we already agreed to a deal! Now at the VERY LAST minute you back out and have the nerve to bump your topic to try and sell or trade the same exact balls you you traded to me?! WOW!

This is shoddy business practices and it's people like this that ruin it for all the honest folks on these forums, this is the reason I decided to post this, because I don't want anyone else getting screwed by him. And I would hope if anyone else runs into a similar situation, that they would post it and let everyone know because it will help out with alot of headaches!

Here is our final private messages, agreeing to the deal and exchanging shipping info.(if you want the rest of the PM's I can send them you direct, there are too many to post, sorry!)

Man, what is going in here lately? This kind of stuff seems to be happening way to much IMO..

The bottom line is this. If I agree to sell or trade a ball, I DO NOT use the ball anymore, period.. I don't want to take the chance of it getting damaged..

I guess someones word is not that important anymore..

I have done plenty of great deals on here.  I wrote you early this morning to make sure that you didn't send out the ball, if you ended up sending out the ball I would have made good with the deal no problems asked.

And my ttt, I forgot to edit which is done now.

I'm not disputing your claim at all .. I did look at the PROFILE of CHRIS .. seems like he has a good record .. I see the messages you exchanged .. don't understand his TAKE TO THE TOP action .. real strange .. something just doesn't look right on this .. I understand you being upset that you felt you had a deal .. you didn't lose anything .. I guess the time getting the package ready .. real strange actions .. hope CHRIS responds here ..

ON EDIT: Didn't see response when I wrote!

I'm not apart of this, but when you make a deal then you can't just back out.

Statement in BOLD says it all!  That's why I have a problem with the way some people accurately describe the # of games on the item(s) they're selling

Well besides my time, I didn't lose anything so that's a good thing.

We agreed to the deal Saturday morning.. later that day he brought the ball to the lanes and bowled with it? After that, he no longer wanted to trade it because he has found a need for this ball?

Well, why couldnt he message me earlier? Why wait until monday morning when you knew I was going to ship the ball monday morning?

And then the ttt thing made me even more confused..

I'm over it, but now I know never to deal with Chris Leftwich again.

This has already been covered, but here's the main question that's been hinted to, but not really asked.

chrisleftwich, if you agreed to a trade, why did you take the ball to the alley and use it?  It doesn't matter than AbAdA is fine with the fact that the deal didn't go through and he's over it.

I'm curious why you'd actually have the balls to do somethign stupid like that after agreeing to the trade.  Real interested to see the response.

I agree!

If I make a deal I keep the ball in the cupboard and don't use it!

A deal is a deal imho...

Friend of mine disagrees with me and uses the ball till last second and I think that is wrong... but it is only my oppinion...

I already pointed out what happened and that is what it is.  If no one wants to do deals with me that is fine, I have done plenty of deals that went perfect with no problems.

Not that you owe me an answer since I wasn't part of the deal, but that's no answer.  That's merely avoiding it.  I reread the thread and there is no answer.

So....had George sent the ball out, you'd make good on the deal.  And if the ball all of a sudden got some gouges in it and wasn't the same ball as you agreed on....you'd do what???  Ship it....and then insist it must have been Fedex or the mails fault and have it all taken up with them?  And then what....who would have paid for the shipping due back to George because not all factor shipping back into the cost of the insurance?

These are some of the things you didn't think about when you decided you were going to take the ball with you to the tournament.

Just making a point, that's all.
