All Star Bowling - transaction feedback
« on: January 26, 2008, 03:33:52 PM »
I had a mixed, but mostly pleasant, experience with All Star Bowling - Joe. Here's the details ...

The Good part of the experience:
On 1/27/2008 I received a great ball (NIB 15# MoRich LevRG - blemish ball) at an even better price ($89.00). ASB-Joe went out of his way to find me a 15# ball with the specific pin distance and top weight (3-4" pin, 2-3 oz. TW) that I requested. What makes this transaction so unusual was that this LevRG bowling ball was purchased knowing in advance that it was a blemish ball, and that the selection of these blemish balls was very limited. I didn't know if the blemish condition was due to Pro-Cg/MB location, surface imperfections, or something else. In my case, Joe found me a ball with Pin/CG/MB in line, with my desired TW/pin, and with only a color blemish (1/2 the ball is fuschia!). (IMO - the color on this ball is way better than the standard LevRG's - I will post pics later ...). So, for this effort and the results, I say "Nice job, Joe!!!"

The part that could use some improving:
ASB-Joe is very busy! I picked the ball up in Cleveland during my travels this weekend, and the pro shop had 6 customers waiting in it when I arrrived. It was insanely crowded for a small shop, and Joe and his staff were working on both local customers and internet orders. Over the course of my transaction (and likely because of the volume of business), Joe was a bit slow to respond to communication (sometimes taking more than 3 days to respond to messages). This does not give a potential buyer any warm and fuzzy feelings. This delay in responding was the only negative aspect of this ball purchase.

The outcome, and my final opinion of the transaction:
In the end, my purchase of the LevRG went very smoothly aside from the messaging hiccups and communication delays. The ball I received was beyond my expectations! The price was great! Joe was very friendly when I picked up the ball in person, and he went out of his way to meet my requested ball specs.

In summary, I would certainly deal with ASB-Joe again. I would recommend him to people with the caveat that the communication might be a little slow, but also with the expectation that they will receive the ball they want with the desired specs at a very competitive price.

Thanks for reading this feedback. I have tried to be objective and honest. Please feel free to PM me with any questions about this transaction with ASB-Joe.
