Hard Coreâ„¢ represents the largest hooking ball introduced by Circle Athletics to date. This symmetrical core design and strong reactive coverstock perform very well on heavily oiled conditions and can be polished for medium oiled lanes.

Lane Conditions

Hard Core is designed for medium to heavy blend lane conditions. The 600 matte finish is best used in its “out of the box” condition for longer oil patterns. The Hard Core can be polished for additional length and backend reaction for use on medium conditions.

While the Hard Core is not recommended for medium/dry lane conditions, the surface can be smoothed to a 1500 grit finish and polished for greater length and even stronger backend reaction.

The Hard Core is the best ball yet from Circle Athletics!  The guys at Circle told me that this was their "hookingest" ball yet and they were right!  I drilled the ball with a 4" pin and put the pin about an inch above the fingers on the center line of the grip.  The CG was straight down near the center of the grip on the same line.  What I got was a ball that I was able to get down the lane, but made a massive turn on the back end.  The first time I used it was on a PBA Pattern league in which we were using "C" pattern - and a very tight version of it, too.  I was able to play around 5 going fairly straight and was throwing pins all over the deck.  I didn't have another ball that I was even able to get into a decent roll, let alone make a good move on the back end.  This is a great ball!  I highly recommend it!

First of all I would like to ask all you guys a question... Do you ever run into a shot where you find to much hook or not quiet enough to score? Well let me tell you a little about what I think of this ball. I bowl in one house that is mabey one of the hardest houses in the country to score in. The league shot is the Doom should I say. From week to week they never seem to change that much but the way they are set up is they are flooded inside like 7 at the breakpoint, dry from like 3 to 7 and then oily outside of that. This shot is so different and hard because you just have to have that perfect ball in hand to score the most.
I drilled my Hard Core by the paper... The #1 leverage drilling. My ball came out with just over a half ounce of side in it and the paper says to bring it to a half. Mine actually has 3/4 ounce but I couldnt want any more or les by the few shots tested with it. The looks of this ball when have people saying gosh you need polish asap!!! I will bet that! All you need to say is well we will just have to see... By just the looks of this ball, you would think it would roll earlier than an HPH or Goliath but the eyes can be decieving because this ball gets through the heads with ease! On the tough house shot mentioned about seemed to become very easy for me with this ball in hand! I started out throwing from 15 to 3-4. This ball was carrying the world!!! A good 4 out of 8 guys was playing this type breakpoint on our pair. Some playing deeper and some playing straighter but still playing the same area of bank. Well I was outscoring everyone else because of 3 things- I carried better than everybody else,  when I got my ball inside 7 in the puddle it still made it to the pocket, and when I hit the 4/5 breakpoint to early it rolled heavy into the pocket not jerking beak every shot! My first two games where 258, and 215 with it. The last game I had to change balls because the heads finally got burned. I drill many balls and this ball gets down the lane better than any other dull ball or heavy oil ball on the market. I have a punisher for the flying backends and now I dont need it so it seems because this ball blends the lanes so nicely! I did in fact notice that the punisher hooked up a little quicker than the hard core if you can believe that!
I would have to recomend any of the regional players or players that bowl on short paterns to not be affraid  to throw this ugly dull ball because it will produce huge numbers on the flying backends... It will also help Circle out because everyone will see that it is a win win stuation to buy this ball! If you see some great reviews of this ball in the bowlers Journal or any other magazine, then believe them because it is absolutly true! If you are a big Storm fan or any other company then you shouldnt buy this product because you will find yourself wanted to change companies completely!!!!
All in all, I would rate the ball a perfect 10 because of its perfect blend to tough lane conditions and carry percentage!!! This is my first Circle ball and will be the last that is for at least one more week!!! This is a must see ball if never seen and to get a great deal on these balls go to www.bowlingball.com and check out the super low prices on these jewels! Circle just came into the PBA a few months agao and believe me this company is gonna be one of the big names in just a little time making great balls like this one. Sorry this review is so long but just want to tell everyone to be open minded and try different products until you find the one and this is the one!!!

                                   Thanks Circle, john

Well, Circle Athletics was nice enough to send us a ball to write a review on.

The ball came in with a 1.5 inch pin and under 2 oz top weight. I laid the ball out with the pin 3 inches and the CG 2 7/8 inches from my Positive Axis Point (PAP). I tested this ball on a house condition and a 48 foot sport shot.

On the house condition, I was able to swing the from 12 to 5 and get the ball back with a some arcing move through the lane.

On the 48 foot Sport Shot, the ball was stronger than most of the other equipment that I was throwing. On this shot, I am only able to get a couple of boards hook with this high volume of oil. With the Hard Core, I was able to go direct and get good drive and hitting power.

This is the strongest ball in the Circle line, and I am sure that you will see more balls from Circle that complement this ball. If you are looking to try Circle Athletics equipment, I would recommend that you start out with this ball.

I haven't thrown the gear myself, but since I have seen several people throwing Circle stuff since they've agreed to sponsor the PBA Senior event at my local house. Anyhow, here goes:

Several local guys have put the Hardcore in their respective bags, and all of them seem quite happy to have done so. The HC is a very smooth rolling solid reactive. To me, it seems to make a very good benchmark ball on most mediums. It provides solid push through the heads with a nice arching backend. There's nothing snappy about this one. Another one of its strengths is that the ball seems to cause great implosion at the pins. Rather than blowing through and leaving 8s and 9s, the HC seems to have a way of collapsing everything in to keep the deck clear. If I didn't already have a good benchmark solid reactive (Hammer Hi-Rev), I would have already put this one in my bag. This is a very solid bowling ball at a great price.

Using a Hard Core that I had just drilled, I rolled a 300 game in a tournament.  The following week, in a different center, I rolled my career high series 833, using the same ball.

It was drilled with the pin at 12 o'clock, 5 1/2 inches from my PAP. The ball arced real strong without jerking off of the dry.  I had more area at the breakpoint than anyone else in the tournament.

Thanks Circle....everyone should give this ball a try!!!

Since I alerted all to the sell out of these balls thought I had better review.

For 70.00 dollars delivered you get a very aggressive , late midlane revs, ball.   I like the hit.    Soft but strong.   Worry more about a 7 pin leave than a ten pin.     Had to take both up to 1500 sand with a buff with Red Turtle Wax  to be able to use on THS and then stay in the oil.

Like I stated, clears heads OK, revs later in midlane and then a kind of a hard "arc" to the pins.    No jerk.

One is drilled with a 3" pin in ring finger, cg at 45 degrees or so. and the other is a 5" pin with pin at 3" from PAP and 2" from VAL.

Both act somewhat the same with the same cover.   The short pin just starts up a bit earlier.

With the CADZ coverstock, and $70 price tag, this is a winner.

I am very happy with this ball, it can handle variaty lane conditions from med-heavy oil to medium light oil. Off course the adjustment have to be made when the lane condition changed but not much.

I drilled it 4.5" Pin to PAP
Pin above Ring Finger
CG about 70 degree
Synthetic Lane

This ball will read later in midlane and store its energy at the back. It gives strong arc moves to the pocket. It doesnt keep the pin low on carry but it will be flying everywhere, good carry.
The Rev is about the same with The One but it handle more oil then the one (both OOB condition)

It doesnt come cheap here from where I live (about the same price as Black Widow) but its well worth it.
When the lane is too oily for my Widow This ball will be my saviour.

I would like to say thank you for all you guys who have been writing review about this ball. All of your reviews are the reason I purchased this ball. And all you guys wrote about this ball is exactly what I got from this ball.
