Drilled up my Deep Freeze last night and used it for the first time in league tonight. One word to describe this ball.......IMPRESSIVE!!!!
Ball speed: 18 mph
Rev Rate: 540rpms
Axis Rotation: 30 degrees
Axis Point: 5 1/2 by 3/4 up
Drilled the ball 40 by 5 by 30. This puts the pin about 1.5 inches above my ring finger, cg swung out about 2 inches and a weight hole on P4 just to add some help since the diff on this ball is .029. I left the ball at box finish which is 4000 plus Factory Finish. I wanted something that I could go straighter without the ball over-reading the mids and yet not jackknife on the backend. What I got was even more impressive than I thought. With the high RG and box finish; the ball cleared the front and mids very well but what made it impressive was that due to the low diff; the ball did not get uncontrollable on the backend. It was a nice controllable arc. Where I normally start with the Disorder playing 20 at the arrows out to 5-6-7; I was able to start with the Deep Freeze standing 7 boards right and playing 12-13 out to around 8 and had a really nice look at the pocket. Over the course of the night; I only moved about 3 boards with my feet and ended up around 15 at the arrows to about 10-12 breakpoint.
Went 258-279-259 for a nice 796 out of the box. Ball paid for itself the first night out (made a little cash in brackets). What I really liked about the Deep Freeze was that I did not have to make any large or drastic moves. When the ball did hit some early friction; it didnt go sideways. Held its line pretty well and left a 4-7 (broke up a split) and a 9 pin (tripped the 4-7). Went 30 clean and threw 31 out of a possible 36. Got exactly what I wanted and then some. Even people came up and asked what I was throwing because I was going much straighter than I typically do. This ball is going to be a huge hit for Columbia with people that are rev dominate and or higher rev rates that want a ball to get down the lane without the uncontrollable "flip".
