- Description: Columbia 300 carries on its legacy of producing the highest performing balls on the market. The new Encounter is another example of the quest started decades ago to give bowlers the best.
The chemical engineers at Columbia 300 have created a new process in which chemical reaction dynamics have been manipulated to exploit the elastic framework found in reactive materials. This breakthrough creates longer polymer chains that create deeper pores and allows for greater built in surface friction that helps absorb oil over a longer period of time. We call this new breakthrough Elastin 6.0.
The new asymmetric Encounter core is a dynamic new shape for Columbia 300 with a low RG that centers the mass properties, creating strong mid- lane ball motion. The medium differential along with a high mass bias rating help the Encounter change direction and keep going.
The clean and angular Elastin 6.0 cover with a smooth polished finish along with the Encounter core gives you easy length through the front part of the lane and stores up energy for a strong and predictable move down lane.

Likes: Just drilled this ball up, it is drilled with the pin above the ring finger no extra hole. It is great to have a High performance pearl from Columbia 300 once again. This ball really goes throught the front part of the lane super clean, then has a nice continous sharp motion down lane at the break point. I would say this ball compared to a Ransom Demand is a bit cleaner through the fronts and mids than the Demand and probably could be used more when the mid lane starts to dry up.
The ball comes polished out of the box with 2000 abralon, I just very lightly scratched it with 2000 to put a little bit of scratch marks back in to the polish, and I got the ball to read down lane about 2-3 feet sooner. This ball is just amazing!!!! Another great job by our brand manager Bugsy Kelly and Columbia 300.

Likes: Started with a pretty simple drilling. 5 1/2" pin to pap with a 60 degree MB placement with a hole 1" from my pap. (pin above the bridge, MB 1" from thumb). First reaction was amazement, the overall strength of the Encounter is incredible. Game 1 on a fresh THS sliding 40 with room to move right! (left handed). Extremely clean through the heads, it skids through the first 30' without a problem. Once it reaches the mids it begins to read and makes a hard but very predictable arc in the back end with phenominal carry. Its break point shape certainly allows it to shine on higher volume tough conditions.

Likes: This ball is a great addition to the Columbia line. I like to play the flood, so I have this ball drilled 5x51/2 and took the surface to a 1000. It reads the midlanes very well and it still retains it's energy as it blows the rack. I shot 789 for my first three games in league with this ball. Looking forward to trying it on a sport condition.

Likes:   I drilled this to not flare to maintain backend reaction.  With this drill and polished the ball has a great angular motion.  I hit it with a 4000 pad and got a more predictable reaction.  Went with even more surface, 1000, for the shorter pattern to cut down the backend ever more.  Overall awesome ball and a little change in surface makes it the ball of choice on most sport conditions.
