The Extreme Chaos is Columbia 300’s newest TEC (Texture Energy Control) ball.  Extreme Chaos is available in Black Cherry with Yellow/Orange engraving and is available in weights of 10-16 lbs.  The Extreme Chaos is Columbia’s newest TEC (Texture Energy Control) coverstock ball featuring microscopic particles in SuperFlex Resin for added traction.  The Extreme Chaos goes longer than Chaos with a stronger backend reaction.  It has a higher RG (2.565) to help it go further down the lane and a medium differential RG (.043) to create 4-6 inches of flare.  The TEC surface has been modified from the original Chaos to project the Extreme Chaos through the track as it dries up due to lane play.  The new TEC surface is easier to polish which creates more length and a stronger backend finish.  The Extreme Chaos has a C.A.T.S. hook rating of 22.

I was looking for a ball that would hook through the heavy oil and finish strong on the back end,so I got a Extreme and drilled it 10:30 rev leverage with the pin under the ring finger.Out of the box it hooked too early and was doa when it got to the pocket,so I polished it.This gave it more length, but not the back end I was looking for.I think this ball needs some dry back ends for it to be effective. Then I got a Brunswick HPH.Check my review.

I've had this ball for about 4 months now and it's the ball that I go to whenever the lanes are too dry for the Chaos and too oily for the Ti Boss II pearl.  This is the best "active" coverstock ball I've used.  You can use it at the beginning of the night and, with some adjustments, I can usually use it all night.  There are nights, though, where there's just too much oil for it and I have to break out the Chaos.  This ball could be classified an oiler drilled for max hook, but for me it's a ball that can be used over a variety of conditions and can be used for a long period of time.  Neither breakdown nor carrydown affect this ball much.  Its "active" cover isn't as susceptible to biting hard on the day as many of the other overactives are.  I won this ball in a contest so I can't tell you if it's worth the retail price, but for what I paid for it, it's the best ball in my bag.  Ok, if I had to pay for it, it'd still be the best ball in my bag.

This was my 3rd experience with a particle ball after previously drilling a Deep Violet and a Navy Quantum.  I drilled the Extreme with the pin under the ring finger ( 4.5 inches ) and the cg kicked out just a little.  Out of the box it hooked about like my deep violet but with a little more length.  I didn't like it that way because it seemed to hook more than it would hit.  I put a 2 minute lustre king on it and it changed the ball completely.  The characteristic became similar to a polished Wrath with the same drilling but it definitely hit harder from the same angles.  If you are looking for another oil eating monster particle ball stay away from this one.  If you are looking for a particle ball that you can stay with after the heads start to go get an Extreme and polish it.

This ball has done wonders for me.  I have become more consistent in my game, and this ball has tought me how to throw the ball consitent, and if I did, I would get little magical signs called "strikes".  This ball is amazing and i recommend anyone to get they're hands on this ball cause it works!!!!!!!!!!

I have my Extreme drilled for max length. I bowl second shift and the

lanes are typically med-dry. This ball got better length than the Chaos but in out of the box condition I found it a bit to strong. When I polished it to 1200 it was a different ball. I was able to play a tight inside shot when the back ends were spotty and send it out as far as I'd like when they started to dry out. This is a very versitile ball that keeps the pins extremely low. I haven't had it long enough to comment on its lifespan

Absolutely wonderful ball with a great deal of options. I had mine polished heavy since I dont throw alot of power but want a great snap. And others we have drilled for the roundhouse bowlers. Only problem with the new TEC covers we have found can be torn up so simply that we have 2 on our shelf right now that look years old and yet were only drilled late last year. But if you dont mind a short life, this ball still is tops for our Columbia line.

Drilled for Donnie (see profile)

Specs:  2" pin
        2 oz. TW

Drilled 5 1/2 X 5 with the pin just under the bridge, let's just say this ball is awesome and leave it at that.

Well...I guess i'll give some details.

Versatile ball.  Can use dull on all but the slickest of conditions.  Shine it up and it's a wonderful league ball.  Reaction is much like a Pulse, but with a little more pop in the last 10 feet.  This is the ultimate particle ball for the high revvers as it doesn't roll too early, but is plenty enough cover for most oil.  Tweeners and strokers will like its smooth reaction and versatility.

Been to five different pro shops in and around town and have got absolutely nowhere.  I usually buy the ball there or bring one in that i found abandoned at work to be drilled.  Then i tell them how i want the ball to react, ususally asking for a length drilling.  What i usually get is random pin placements and a ball that usually performs well below expectations.

That is what happened to my extreme chaos at the sixth pro shop.  Asking for a length drilling, the ball was drilled with the pin under the fingers, so far under it was almost in the center of my palm.  I asked another pro shop, the seventh, about what kind of drilling this ball has.  He gave me technical info but basically said the ball was drilled for someone who puts massive amounts of rotation into the ball because the core has been taken out of play.  I mentioned this information to the pro shop owner where i got it drilled.  He basically told me i knew nothing and that he drilled the ball the way i asked.  So i was out $40 and stuck with a lame ball.  The ball reaction was so weak that my plastic ball was outhooking it.

So i got this great idea to drill the ball myself.  I plugged it and then used the latest in technology to map out where to drill it, a napkin and 99 cent bic pen.  I placed the pin 1 inch to the right of my ring finger.  I placed a small balance hole on the side of the ball.  I ended up with +1/8 of sideweight.

Let me tell you, this ball fits better than any other of my equipment and is  outhooking my strongest ball, an apex, by 10 boards.  It goes longer than any other ball i have and makes the sharpest break to the pocket.  I am carrying alot better and because of that i am scoring better.  I have shot my top three series this year three weeks in a row with this ball.  I can go all three games with this ball with very little adjustment.  It certaintly beats my "professionally" drilled equipment.  Not to mention i can pay for bowling this week with the savings and have a lot more fun shooting better.

I think i will drill more of my own equipment in the future and save some money.

It suppose to be my first choice ball, however it lost its place to my other chaos, the Complete.

Comparing the two, this does not have that strong a hitting power as the complete. But cos of the drilling, a B2 on the specs sheets, it still works well on a wet conditions. But if the backend is dry, I would prefer to use my other balls, complete chaos or the cuda/c 2000 and/or sometimes my older super cuda/c.

But still will rate it a B

Well, this is a follow up to my previous review.  The extreme chaos has since the previous review experienced tec death.  It was slow death, one week after another the ball just hook less and less.  Then it seemed the hit went away also, i coulnt get ten off the deck no matter how i this the 1-3 pocket.

Great ball new but dont expect it to last long.  I got $30 for it from somone on line.  Last tec ball i will buy.

Hello This a review on another Columbia ball.

Check out my other reviews.

I have a 15-pound ball with a 2-inch pin.

Ball is drilled with the pin underneath the fingers and the CG in the palm area.

I have used this ball with success in the past and now once again I pulled another one of my Columbia balls out of the closet.(Beacause I was trying dirent kinds of companies)so I'am going back to the company I have consident success with.

I pulled  this ball out of the back for league night and I proceed to bowl a 736 series with games of 237,269,230 now I have told alot of bowlers when they ask me what ball should they buy? I just tell them to focus on getting there game as sound as possible then use bowling balls of today to help aid them in what they are trying to do

Good bowling and talk to you soon

This is follow up on my last review.

In fact, I thought my ball too had experienced "TEC death" as most commented. However, I did realised that this ball is good for synethic lanes. Because after I shine up the surface, it goods. It gets down the lane pretty well and recovers very well. It hits like a truck.

I play at about 5-7 boards straight down the lane and with a slightly more than medium amount of revs.

With the polish, I believe all TEC covers would be a manificient ball.

well this review is a little old.  but ive had my Extreme Chaos for anywhere from 2-3 years now.  As soon as i got it i knew that i was going to love it.  I started off rolling O.K. with it and then the so called TEC death happened to it.  it just slowly started losing its hook till it hooked like a plastic ball.  then after almost giving up hope on it i tried sitting the ball out in the sun for 10 minutes at a time and then taking a rag and rubbing alcohol and just wiping it off every 10 minutes and rotating it.  after about 1 and a half hours of doing this i brought it back inside and let it cool.  3 days later i took it down to the lanes on a fairly oily shot and WOW did that ball move.  It went from doing nothing to hooking about like the latest trauma's except earlier.  and as for life.  its March right now and im still using it.  in fact back in October of last year i rolled my first 300 with the ball.  Ive rolled numerous 700s with it.  To date it is my favorite ball.  and as far as im concerned there will never be a ball out to top it.

I play in The Netherlands.

I have this ball about 2 seasons now, and I still use it regulairly. I'm a stroker with normal revs and about 23 km/h.

-This is a ball for the medium oil conditions. This ball goes straight for a long time and then brakes, but only when there is a nice, dry end. With my player specs this ball will do till about 38 feet oil. The ball has an nice controlable hook, not to snappy.

The ball needs to be cleaned often, or you can obviously see the "tec-death". When u do that, the ball keeps his action very long without much resurfacing.

Conclusion: It needs dry end or it won't hook at all. If there is a dry end, very nice ball to play with
