LANE CONDITION

Length: 38'

Volume: Med-low

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): THC

COMMENTS

Likes: Gets downlane great for a C300 and asymmetric core. Adjusted surface to 2K Abralon with factory finish, so it wouldn't be too long or sharp. This ball picks up and goes, with no over/under, and is still going left when it falls off the deck. Carry is surprisingly good even with this much backend. Keeps the pins real low and mixes well. It's like a Bedlam on steroids. A great choice for a fresh shot.

Dislikes: As with most pearls, watch out for wet/dry.

LANE CONDITION

Length: 41

Volume: medium

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): THS

Likes: The Ransom has all of the qualities in a ball that make a ball my "go to ball". Extremely clean through the front, easy rev in the midlane and continues angular motion on the backend. I was able to stand on top of the friction and no hand it or I could create a lot of axis tilt and hook the lane and I get the same punishing hitting power from either angle. To me when a cover is this clean it allows for maximum versatility. I drilled a second Ransom and put a 1000 grit on it and it never stood up early. The motion was earlier with a touch smoother motion on the backend but nothing that I felt like I had to fight.

This ball will match up well to most styles but especially well for players that are looking for a High Performance reaction but sometimes have issues with the fronts hooking too much.

LANE CONDITION

Length: 41 feet

Volume: medium- low

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): THS 2nd league of the night

COMMENTS
This is an easy choice, weather it be on fresh or 2nd league of night; gives me the length I need to get down the lane ecspecially when the heads start to go away,

And, also gives me the jump off the friction on the fresh backends.

A multi-purpose ball that is a must in everyones bag

Drilled mine 4 X 4 X 3, extra hole needed, drilled pin out in ring finger, cg kicked to the right

Leaving it at OOB, which helps with the easy length

If you need a ball with plenty of length and great backend you have to give this ball a chance

Likes: Easy length, and continuation through pin deck

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): House shot

Likes:  Love the length and backend. Drilled both with a 5"pin; one was pin down and other pin up.
The pin down ball works on the fresher condition and then when the pattern breaks down I am able to move

left and go deep and if the shot makes a radical move early I use the pin up ball for extra length. The backend is

a strong arc for me but very readable. When the shot requires a straighter shot I use the pin up on the fresher

pattern.

Likes: I really like this ball for a couple reasons it can handle cover adjustments well, I can change my hand position and change lines easily. But the biggest thing i like about this ball is how the pins react they stay low and mix better than any ball i have. I reacently tried a couple different cover changes from 1000k to 4000k and back to factory and it handles all changes very well. With it at 1000 i had trouble staying off the head at 4000k polished i was able to play up the boards easily with no loss in the carry.

Dislikes: There really isnt any notification when this ball decides it need to go back in the bag, it goes from nice strong shot to where the hell did that come from backend and your looking at a split or a 4pin.

Volume:  50 Units House shot,

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): Both

Likes: This ball gets down lane very well and has a very smooth and strong reaction in the back ends. It has lots of recovery on the sport patterns and seems to always hit like a truck.

Dislikes: It doesn't seem as reliable on house shots as it seems to over react in the dry parts of the lane when tossed outside of the block.

Likes:This ball reminds me a lot of the original Bedlam. I was specifically looking for something to go real long and flip hard because I bowl league on late block in a bowling center with very light volume. I went with 6"x5" from PAP with pin over middle finger. I got exactly what I asked for in that the ball goes another 2-3 feet longer than a similar drilled Burst before picking up. I would suggest drilling the Ransom a little stronger than this since I find the ball goes around the head pin a little too much with this layout. Overall the ball is real smooth through the front and makes a nice move off the dry. Ransom hits extremely hard once it turns over. On most typical house patterns you will strike all day. If you like the original Bedlam you will love the Ransom. Blows away the Complete Bedlam. Complements the Outburst very well.

Dislikes: A bit over/under reaction on Fresh wet/dry.
