The HyJinx was created by surrounding a single density core with a strong reactive coverstock - the Big Flip Strong. This exciting cover is designed to combat medium/dry lane conditions with length and a very strong move on the backend. The HyJinx combines the Big Flip Strong with low RG and a lower flaring (.031 diff.) core to further strengthen its dry lane performance. The HyJinx comes in two stunning colors: Red and Amber Pearls. The HyJinx is available weights of 10 to 16 lbs.

I drilled mine Pin high in Bridge, CG slightly off label ( 5 X 4 ) Layout. This ball is another great medium to dry piece. This layout in this ball will give you length and even transition, so you can use it on dry and dont get a over/under reaction. Once again this ball does not like Oil

Drilled this one with pin under ring finger and "cg" kisked out about an inch right of thumb hole ( This particular drilling is also the drilling I have my " Wrath XP") ( For this ball I did need a weight hole) . The ball easily wants to get down the lane and has more pop on the back end that it's counterpart " Jinx". But like the Jinx, it too doesn't like a whole lot of oil.
After bowling with it,It is a good transitional ball for game three, you really don't have to make a big move come game three like you do with some balls. 12 games in and with a little carry down I found myself moving right, not a big move right, but right is a good thing.

My Hijinx has a 3.5 inch pin and 3 oz of top weight before drilling.  With PBA Regionals in mind I experimented with the "Rico" layout.  I put the pin just above/left of my grip center, 4 5/8 from PAP.  The CG is right of the thumb hole, needing a big hole 6 3/4 inches from my grip center on a line from the pin through the CG.

Unlike the previous two posters, my ball worked pretty well in the oil.  I used this ball on a fresh league condtion, typical house shot, but some hang around first arrow.  We bowl 4 games, and this ball just got better as we went.  Very early rev, smooth at the break point, and continuous all the way through the pins.  Had a number of guys comment about how that ball hit, so very hard.  Had that roll, that looks like the ball weighs 20lbs.

I was suprised this ball worked as well as it did on a house shot.  My previous Rico balls were not so hot.  My layout and ball speed may be why this ball handled the oil so well, seemed like I couldn't move too deep, this ball just kept coming.

It is very clean in the front part of the lane, I think this ball would be great with most any layout on most medium conditions.  Fresh heads should be fine, longer patterns may not like pin high drillings without slow ball speed.  Probably a pretty versatile ball.

Hope this helps ya!!

I'm coming off 15 years bowling straight. I was never very good, but I had fun. I first tried the Scout Reactive at my pro shop guys suggestion, just to learn the hook. After about 4 months, I was hooking well enoough (I thought) to upgrade the ball. My average after 6 weeks in a learning-league was 138.

My pro shop guy suggested the Hyjinx, so I went with it. Standard drilling pattern, weight hole on the PAP, pin just right and below the ring finger, etc.

This ball revs faster than the Scout, with no change in my release at all. So far, I've bowled about 20 games with it and I'm bowling anywhere from 10-60 pins over average! I did the math, and on all my games since I got the Hyjinx, my average is 168. In fact, if it was not for 2 open frames in a practice game last night, I would have had my first ever 300 game!

The Hyjinx is VERY forgiving, and even on a few really bad Brooklyn hits, it blew the pins down.

When I told my coach I had bought the Hyjinx, he said "That's not a step up...it's a leap of faith". So far, my faith is justified.

I LOVE THIS BALL!

I laid the red/amber pearl Hyjinx out 5" x 3 5/8" pin x cg to PAP. I wanted this to be the ball I take out of my bag near the end of the tournament. This ball does EXACTLY what I intended it to do. Very clean through the fried heads with a smooth, powerful breakpoint motion. The new Big Flip Strong coverstock proves so far to be a winner in my book, I can't wait to see it on future Columbia releases. I compared this side-by-side to my Wrath, and saw about 5-6 boards less overall hook in the Hyjinx. I've also seen people use more aggressive layouts, and it reminds me of the classic, Messenger Ti Pearl with a midlane read and move off the breakpoint. Every bowler needs a ball like this in their bag.

Just had to do it, drilled me another one. Had to stacked this one pretty strong, just so I could see what it could do.

With the first one I drilled it with the pin under ring finger, and cg kicked out.
Between the 2 of them you definitely could tell the difference, the first one was even through and through, the second one, got down the lane and wants to hit.
the first one I said, i couldn't throw it on a lot of oil, but the second one seemed to love the oil. I see how this ball is just flying out of our pro shop, and when a bowler I know asks my advice, it is definitely one of the first balls I point him( her) too. I am very impressed with this ball, and recommend it very highly

This is the first comlumbia ball I have drilled since my wicked blue and white.  Drilled this stacked leverage with a small hole on my axis.  This ball has given me on house patterns easy length with some pop in the backend.  I haven't drilled to many pearls but I'm conviced that this was a great addition to the arsenal.

I bought this ball thinking i'd get a ball that would provide me with a consistant  roll on medium - dry lanes. What i got was completely different...this ball HOOKS! i drilled mine with the pin directly below my ring finger (i'm right handed). The one thing i like about this ball is that its versitile...i usually stand around the 22 - 25 board aiming for the 12 - 13 board and i get a sharp, fast reaction down the lanes. Or, if conditions warrant. i stand about the 15 board and throw straight over the 2nd arrow. I recently got new inserts and the first game i rolled after getting the inserts i bowled a 300 game...so its a very poweful, versitile ball. I like it.

Sorry to be the spoiler but I did not like this ball at all.  Was drilled to go long and roll.  This ball does the opposite.  It hooks and it has a mind of it's own.  Very hard to control this ball.  Sad part is, I have found more success in this ball being a ten pin ball ONLY.  Plus, I found that this ball is very light in the pocket.  No pin action what so ever.  My advice, don't get it.  It is not worth it.
