Messenger Pearl Flame
« on: December 31, 1969, 06:00:00 PM »
The Messenger Pearl's available color is Pearl Flame with white engraving and is available in weights of 10-16 lbs. This ball gives high performance at an affordable price. The ball is designed for use when the heads begin to dry up due to bowling activity and there is carrydown oil on the backend. The arcing break point makes it controllable on spotty carrydown. The aggressive pearlized Super-Flex cover helps the ball get down the lane. This ball is a medium-low Rg (2.528 inches). The .041 differential Rg gives the ball 4 to 5" of flare.  The Messenger Pearl is a great compliment to the solid Messenger. Use MESSENGER for oil and the MESSENGER Pearl after the track opens up.

2ND REVIEW ON THIS BALL

Ball's drilled at 12 O'clock with a med weight hole on about three inches from my track.  Since using the Messenger last summer, I've completely changed my approach and consequently my release therefore I'm able to get a much better reaction out of this ball.  As I said before, this ball is very jumpy on the backend but I'm able to play deep inside and still get the ball to hook into the pocket w/ some power as opposed to before when it just rolled out at the pins.  As of now this is my favorite ball on a med-heavy shot, which is where I bowl most of the time.  Lots of carrydown where I bowl, so the backend on this ball is great for that.  Thanks for your time, good luck and good bowling!

stats check profile

had this ball in my basement for the better part of 6 years, knocked the dust off and decided to thow it again just for shnitz and giggles.

lane condition: FRIED
i was ammazed how clean this ball still rolled after all this time and made a vey angular move to the pocket. i bowled 5 games with it shooting 1128 with it nothing to high but nice consistant scores with a ball this old. ball hit pretty solid but left quite a few 10 pins.

lane conditions: fresh
ball hardly made a move threw aggresivly up 5 and left several 5-7 splits and decided to put it up after i left the dreaded big 3 for the first time in my life(thank god it was in practice)

conclusion:
may take it next time i go bowl a late shift tournament or practice on burnt lanes. other then that i don't think this ball is very good with todays oil and patterns. definatly will take it to the pederson next year
