check my profile for specs. I punched up an Icon about 1 month ago. I put the pin 1 1/4 over my ring finger, and the cg 1 in up above my midline. At first, the box finish on the ball caused it to drive to hard and I left more 9 pins than 10 pins. So i sanded it to 320 grit, and first game like that I shot 300. after a couple weeks it would burn early and waste energy, so I went and polished it with Storm Xtra Shine.. I believe that's it, but anyways, it was the 3500 grit polish from storm. Now this ball goes exceptionally long and has a sharp little flip on the backend. I carries the corners very well and after about 35-40 games I haven't found any sign of "muscle death" yet. I can use this ball on almost anything except a flood, this ball is very versatile, and has been very popular to the bowlers up here in the northwest.

Icon gets a 9. As long as columbia can figure out how to keep their particle balls from dying after 50 games, they should be on the right track with this new sets of Icon bowling balls..

WOW, this ball is great.  It has a very nice hook potential and the reaction is just beautiful.  So far I've thrown 3 nights with it and all three of them would have been amazing if I knew how to adjust, but when they were fresh and i didn't have to move this ball is godlike.  I shot 610, 639, and 740 with this ball; obviously made the right adjustments in the 740 unlike the other two when I went from about 270 the first game down to 190 (ARGH!).  Well anyhow, this ball is great it has a nice arcing reaction, not too flippy and can play right through all the soup with ease.  Exceptional carry if you ask me, but then again nowadays what ball doesn't carry when it's relatively new?  Ok, I've spoken my mind on this ball and I highly reccomend it to all fans of Columbia and all bowlers who want to score well because this ball really does a great job of helping to put up great numbers!

box condition, this ball is probly my fav. ball i've ever thrown.  it reved so easy and got down the lane nice then exploded left and tore up the pocket.  1st 3 games with it were 737.   ...that was when it 1st came out

but, being the smart person i am, i tryed to polish it a little, to use it more on in the house i bowl at.   WRONG MOVE.  once again, i can't come close to getting it back to the way it was, if someone knows the secret...please inform me on how to get the reaction back.  
 
now, it has the same reving ability that i love about it and great length, just....not much backend.  i'm going to have to keep it in my locker unless i bowl on drier lanes

OK, this ball is old and somewhat girly looking.  I won it for the last session of our Sport league for having the most match play points(the other companies gave us their newest stuff, Columbia gives us closeouts....nice).

Anyway, I haven't had much success with Columbia particles since the Extreme Chaos, so I tried a high RG drilling to see if I could get one of these things to turn a corner.  

Nope.

Don't know if it's my rev rate or what, but I can't get any Columbia particle to recover, period.  However, this ball will fill a nice niche for me, just not the one intended.

I threw this in the first night of my men's league to see what it would do on a house shot (36' Christmas tree).  It stunk on the fresh, wanted to hook early when I tried to play fairly straight, whiffed the head pin when I tried to open up.

I tried it again later in the set, and the early hook brought it to life somewhat.  On a condition where my Monster Frenzy jumped early, the Icon read the lane smoothly and made a nice, smooth move to the hole.  Problem was as they dried out, you still couldn't send it out and get it back.

I would think this would be a great dry sport shot ball or a good ball on super wet/dry.

Overall, I'm really losing faith in Columbia particles.  Until I see a change, I will go with anybody else's.

Great Ball.tge first week i got this ball i bowled 3 260's,high series 775. i love the reaction of this ball. hooks good in oil, not to much in dry. i Highy Recommend this ball to anyone.

i know THIS IS VERY OLD BALL AND I SHOULD HAVE DONE A REVIEW LIKE A FEW YEARS AGO BUT TO THIS DAY I CALL THIS BALL OLD FAITHFULL, I HAVE SHOT 2 800 SERIES, WITH THIS BALL AND 4 300 GAMES SO I LOVE THIS BALL AND HIGHLY RECCOMEND IT

Alright, Ive had this ball for probably atleast 4 years now.  The reason I got it was I was in a junior league and another guy was throwing one.  I was really taken back on how this ball exploded the pins!  It was crazy.  So, I decided to pick one up NIB-Got it for pretty reasonable.  Pin over ring, 16-18,Stroker.  I noticed that if i threw the ball a little more direct i would have a better shot and more carry.  When throwing this ball out it seemed to burn up a little and hit like a wet diaper, haha. After quite a few games on it,  it basically died.  Just soaked up too much oil and had no more hitting power. So, i had did the hot bath method to try to bring it back to live and wa la good as new!~ I would recommend this ball to anyone, but you have to keep it clean.  Collects oil and debris very easily.
