Messenger Ti Traction
It’s traction that give this speed demon its ammunition. Our latest Messenger mate, Messenger Titanium TRACTION, is the sharpest dull ball around. Its all-new finish grabs its way through oil. Of course, it’s also armed with a new enhanced Super-Flex reactive cogverstock. TRACTION sends the competition an on-target message. So hold your fire. If you want to be the last one standing, you know what you have to do.

Fired, undrillable Titanium ceramic core This dense Titanium ceramic core concentrates mass at the center of the ball, generating more rotation off the bowler’s hand, which equates to more hook potential.
Enhanced SuperFlex The enhanced coverstock with 1200 grit finish provides more "Traction", in oil.

This ball goes long!
My friend got one this past weekend. Set-up works to 5x5 (pin is between fingers, about 1.25" above; cg is at 4", but weight hole makes final cg 5").
The ball goes very long with a soft move on the backend. However, it hits. The biggest thing that I noticed is the ball keeps the pins VERY low to the deck.
My friend was complaining about the ball not making a lot of noise or sending messengers. His gripe being that a ball named "Messenger" should send "Messengers."
Another thing is that the ball doesn't hook NEARLY as much as it does over in the continental US. In fact, it kind of reminds me of the Rock-On. Soft look, soft sound, massive carry.
(Not enough assessment time/evidence to give a can rating.)

for the person who says this ball goes long your wrong.
this ball hooks alot more than my phenom. even on heavy oiled lane.
i would have to stand far left put it out to the five board to hit the pocket. but when it hits it hits hard.

Depending on the drilling this ball can go long, contrary to the previous review, and as for people wanting messengers, it dipends on how you throw the ball, not what ball you throw.

This New Messenger/Ti Traction is a must have ball for anyone who bowls on Medium to Oil Synthetic lane conditions. Especially Tweeners, Stokers, and Full Rollers will find a place for this one!
We believe this new entry from Columbia is very worthy to wear the Messenger/Ti label. As with all the previous Messenger/Ti's, this ball will find its place in the bag's of many bowlers for those who need to conquer Medium/Oil Synthetic lane conditions! The New SuperFlex Enhanced Blended coverstock provides great traction in the oil and also helps this ball retain a strong move to the pocket. As with all particle or what we call blended balls, this one will work at it's best on a fresher lane condition. We did find this ball would bleed too much energy and allow for weaker hits as we got into our third game of league play. But with a move left to follow the oil line, this ball found its strike line again with NO problem!
With the same great Titanium Core and motor, this ball is friendly to use!
This ball is not as big a hooker as the Messenger/BSP is on the drier lane conditions so keep this in mind when using this one! The name of the coverstock tells us all we need to know, TRACTION! Not as much lateral hook as the previous Messengers. But enough to make this ball friendly and usable for most.
Our Cranker tester found this ball to burn up very quickly and only usable for about one game on a fresh typical league condition. The weak hits and deep inside line provide for too much over/under.
If you are a Tweener and need a Strong "Predicable" ball, then this one is for you! If you have a problem on Plastic Lanes and want more ball movement, then this new Messenger/Ti will solve your problem!
We highly recommend this ball to all bowlers!

I've owned the original Green Messenger, the Messenger Ti, the Gold Pearl Messenger Ti, and now the Traction...I guess you could say I'm a big fan of the Messenger line. I like the way they get down the lane but still have the energy to turn over and carry from way deep inside.
The Traction is no different in that it plays well from deep - I drilled it much the same way I drill all my Messengers - 5x5, small hole on the PAP.
One thing I notice about the Traction (I shined it up from the box finish) is that when it does hit the dry, it hooks more than the previous Messengers. Other reviews are correct, this ball does hit. It seems to lope through the fronts a bit more than the original Messenger Ti did for me, but that might be a result of a span/pitch change more than ball difference.
From deep, I just stand where I know there is oil (5th arrow) and keep it tight the entire way down - the fade back shot rules! As lons as I don't overthrow it, the ball drives pins sideways easily. If I do overthrow it, the Traction surprisingly carries those flat 10's out easier than I thought a shiny ball would.
I must say I'm very pleased.
8.5 out of 10

I used this ball for awhile and it started loosing its hook, so i sanded it and it was like brand new, good ball for med oil

i got this ball for my birthday and it was good for a while. It had hook but lost its hook. It has really bad carry and pin action after a while. I was leaving five pins and back row pins with solid pocket shots.
edit: after i got it redrilled, the ball is a beast for low oil. doesnt lose hook at all
