What a great ball this is. Drilled mine 6" pin(above middle finger) and MB just a pinch to the right of thumb. Don't let the "pearl" scare you away from this ball. Easy through the front part of the lanes but the reaction off "the spot" as they say is right on the money. I love the continuation through the pins after it gets to the spot. Just like all the other Columbia balls, it keeps the pin flying low. I was able to throw this on the Scorpion pattern in our Experience league and I had guys crawling all over me to find out what ball I was throwing. It really gives you an awesome read on many, many patterns. The new surfaces on these balls are really the break through to go along with the great new weight block from the Full Swing in this ball. What a great combination this is. You have got to try the Pure Swing, you won't be disappointed!!

Being a Columbia Staffer I drilled the first ball for max flare and the
second one for max length and backend. Max hook ball really hits the
breakpoint hard and continues thru the pins even playing deep inside. The breakpoint is very readable and predictable. The one drilled with length and backend is just that good length with a sharp backend. Columbia has needed a premium pearl and the Pure Swing fits that to a tee. I used both Pure Swings with the box finish.

The lanes - THS. Oiled to about 41 feet fairly heavy volume of oil as is evident when the ball comes back. The heads are synthetic and the backs are wood. High average in the house was 235 this year.
The drilling - pin under bridge, cg off the palm and the mb in a very strong position. No weight hole needed. I believe it is 4 1/2 X 4 drilling. I have medium to high speed and not a ton of revs so I wanted pin under so the ball would not be skid/flip.
The reaction - being a pearl it is very clean through the heads even as they dry up. It picks up a roll and makes a very smooth transition. For me the reaction is a hard arc which is what I wanted. The key is there is absolutely no quit to the ball. Once it makes its move the continuation is amazing. Right through the deck without hesitation. I am amazed at the flare on the ball.
The carry - in a word - phenomenal. I have used it for two weeks in the spring league I am in. I have left a couple of solid ten pins, but I really have seen this ball carry every imaginable hit. High, light, and flush it really does not matter. The great feeling is when you throw a ball and have the confidence that it is going to carry. It really puts a lot of fun in the game.
This ball is the real deal. It is not a hook monster, but I have been able to use it right from the start in league. I just go a little straighter up the boards at the start then move left as the lanes change. Columbia really hit it out the park with this release. I now have the Total Bedlam for heavier shots and this one fits the bill for lighter volumes.

This ball gets down the lane very smooth and has a sharp continuous backend. Works well on medium-heavy oil sport shots and excellent on house shots. It has excellent length and hits harder than any ball I've ever owned, pins fly everywhere! 10/10 Columbia300! Keep the great balls comin!

I liked the coloring of this ball at first and after throwing a power swing I just had to try one. the full swing core with a pearl of the full tilt!! it's awesome. I'm eager to try the new pure physics when the next demo comes along.
Great job columbia you have a new customer, anyone need any hammer balls!!

My fiancee struggled with this ball last year and got a Mission to replace it so I had Justin Buford at Cliff Barnes Pro Shop in Winston-Salem plug it and give it a go.
What I was looking for: The ball motion and strength i had in mind is something that would bridge a gap from my higher end pieces-a Virtual Gravity and a Momentum Swing. I was looking for a clean look through the heads with good continuation on the backend.
Drill Pattern: After discussing the drilling options with Justin, we decided on a Pin over ring placement, which is 4.5" for me. We also decided on a Double Thumb hole, bear in mind i have never had that hole placement before so it was new territory for me
. Im not sure of the hole diameter.What I got: Both of my league shots are on the higher volume side, so I havent expected too much. What i can tell you is at the current surface of 4000 and no polish it is not flippy by any means. Actually i was very surprised at just how smooth and controllable it is. So in actuality i got the opposite of what i was intending to get, but at the same time I am very happy with the ball reaction.
To add the the ball reaction, i'm not sure if the smoothness is so much to do with the actual drilling as it is my fiancee not cleaning it properly. But it could also be due to the high flaring drilling conbined with my release causing it to burn a little earlier than needed. My plan for this ball is to get an oil extraction done and then do another review. As for now I am content with it if the reaction doesnt change much after the extraction, I like smoother rolling pieces when I encounter sparking backends so it will definitely have a place in my bag.
Right now its definitely under my Virtual Gravity and Momentum Swing, and 607a strength wise, but it is a bit stronger than my Loud Noize.
