Likes: Strong core; strong overall reaction; powerful through the pindeck

Dislikes: N/A

The Ironman core is back for a second appearance. This time, Columbia 300 has it wrapped with the AR 350 Solid coverstock. This produces a strong and continuous reaction, as compared to the Urge which gives me more of a skid-flip motion.

The layout on my Raw Urge is 60 x 4.5 x 50, and to this point I've thrown it on fresh patterns. I was able to swing the ball comfortably on the fresh 42 foot pattern, and on a 45 foot pattern that was tighter overall I moved right and played up the boards. While I had to adjust hand positions and roll, the ball doesn't quit on me and is another hard hitting winner!

Grab yourself a Raw Urge at your local proshop on December 1st, 2015! It's the next great piece of Columbia 300's Upper Mid Performance (Orange Line) puzzle :D

The Raw Urge is the ewest release in the Columbia 300 Upper-Mid performance category. It utilized the same Ironman core as seen in the Urge, but for the first time we are seeing a solid version of the AR350 coverstock. This ball definitely picks up in the mid-lanes better than anything else I've thrown using this coverstock. It's predictable, but not overly uncontrollable, and goes through the pins extremely well. I've had good luck so far with it on my Tuesday night house shot leave as well as my monday night travel Sport league. I definitely see this ball staying in my bag for a long time and could see it being used on quite a wide variety of medium to heavily oiled lanes.

I drilled this one 70x43/4x35. Just like one of my Urges. I guess C300 knows what they're doing. I originally put a little polish on this ball and didn't care much for it. I took it back to 500 2000. Really like it now. Normally when I use surface I lose continuation through the pins, but this starts up nice midlane and just gets stronger. This ball will definitely be traveling with me.

The new Raw Urge by C300 is a must have for tournament bowlers.  The AR350 solid coverstock wrapped around the Ironman core gives this ball strong, continuous, and predictable ball reaction.

My ball speed is 15mph and rev rate is 375.

I drilled this ball 65x4.5x70

I have thrown it on the THS, 2012 US Open Pattern, and on Mexico City.
This ball excelled for me on Mexico City.  With the pattern being 45ft it read the pattern very well.  The house shot and the US Open pattern it was a bit too strong and read the pattern a little too early. I have polished this ball up and it reacts very similar to the box finish. It definitely let me play the lanes straighter on the House shot and it didn't get jumpy with the added length and energy it saved with the polish.

What I love about this ball is how predictable it is and controllable.  Don't confuse control with hook potential because this ball hooks a lot.  For tournament bowlers bowling on tougher conditions that's what you want, control.  You do not want a ball that is over/under and hard to read how the lanes are playing and transitioning. I also like how versatile the coverstock is to surface changes while keeping the same shape and predictability.

For someone looking for a new oil ball, or a tournament bowler looking for a piece of equipment that will read the lane to determine which direction to go this is a perfect choice.

The New C300 Raw Urge is a must have. This ball allows any style to strike a lot, it opens multiple angles and allows almost any part of the lane to be played, it has great back end continuation that explodes through the pins for great carry. I'm Left Handed, High Rev Rate, High Speed and drilled mine 45x5.25x40 and averaged 259 after 21 games in 3 different leagues with an 844 series! This ball will not disappoint. LANE CONDITION

Length:47ft

Volume:Heavy

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): PBA Scorpion

COMMENTS

Likes: What I loved about this ball on a heavy pattern was the mid lane pick up and drive. It definitely does not go sideways for me, because that's not really a shape I like to go for with my stuff, but at 60x5x40, it has a great readability that allows me to play the track, and then move in from there as the pattern opens up. I have thrown this ball on house shots as well, I just have to get a lot deeper into the puddle between 25 and 15 because this IS a lot of ball and a lot of cover. Overall a very strong piece from C300 best suited for heavier conditions, OR someone with a lower rev rate who wants to cover more boards. I have managed 300 games both on sport and house conditions with this ball, so, pretty good. :)

Wow this ball is strong, but mostly on the back part of the lane. This ball is clean through the heads, reads the mid-lane well, and is a monster on the back part of the lane.

Layout:
5 x 3 3/4  PIN over bridge. Extra hole inside VAL.
BOX Specs: 3-4" pin, 3oz

Review:
I was in awe of the hitting power of this ball. It has excellent pick up in the mid-lane due to the core and cover combo. The solid aggressive cover reads the mid lanes quite well. I've used this ball on heavier volumes. It's hook in a box. An under-rated ball in my opinion.
