I'm sure all of you Columbia fans out there have been foaming at the mouth for someone to review the Columbia Red Scout.  Fear not, your wait is over.

In a nutshell, the ball is round and it rolls straight, no matter what you do.  Even on Avon-North Hills' famous "Oops, we had six kiddie parties two weeks ago and Captain Bowling stole all the oil from our 60s-era oil "machine" (also known as a katsup bottle) so we haven't oiled the lanes since" shot.  Not even Sir Spins-a-lot could get the Red Scout to move a single board.

To be perfectly honest, I think my Storm Soccer ball hooks more -- seriously.  The Red Scout hits like a pile of mashed potatoes and has about zero flare.

If you're bowling at a house where they have NEVER (and I do mean, NEVER) oiled the lanes, then maybe this ball is for you.  Otherwise, forget about it!

I've got the Black Scout and love it.  I used to average 220 but stopped bowling about 7 years ago.  I chose the Scout because I used Black U-Dots for years.  This ball reacts very predictably and hits hard.  I'm averaging 215 with this ball.  Some guys on the league have all the latest and greatest, but I can't stand the over/under reaction of today's equipment.  This ball gives me lots of area, very predictable reaction, and hits great.  What more can you ask for?

I just bought the Red(Pink) Scout Reactive and all I can say is wow.  Even in semi OILY conditions I have a nice 8-12 board hook on the ball.  In dry conditions its much more.  I average 204 and have bowled nothing but 600 series since I purchased it.  Lovin it!

I got the black scout about 2 years ago and i love it. It is very easy to control and you can always tell were its going. For me its my dry oil and spare ball because it dosn't hook alot. But for the begginner bowler it is a great ball. It will introduce you to a more aggresive ball and still be able to control it.  So i would recomend this ball to someone who whants to start throwing a hook or a veteran looking for a dry oil ball.

I bought this ball when i first started bowling about 5 monthes ago. I definitely say this ball is a good ball to learn the hook with. Since it does not hook very much it is my go to spare ball and when the conditions call for it my dry lane ball. It is very controllable and easy to predict where it will end up. I now through a messenger titanium and my main strike/oil ball is my killer instinct sanded. high game after 5 monthes is 265 rolled five times and high series of 736.
